Gotta search for the huntress… and I got it! Maybe air power can get past the big rocks. The huntress can threaten 5 damage with boosts from Argagarg and Spore Shambler.
Switching to Dreamscape and Macciatus as my tech II openers, because I realized that Reteller only shines with other Illusion units to retell. Also, Dreamscape should shut down threats like Dinosize and Spirit of the Panda. I must say, though, that I"m very disappointed to not draw a Tech I unit this turn. Well, I hope I similarly don’t draw a tech II card (or Truth spell) for next turn, haha…
Part of me is glad to see Porkhand Magistrate played… but I can’t let him live with this build! I’m surprised that my merfolk survived. Kinda sus that the birds were sacrificed like that, presumably to protect Rook. Maybe there’s a Thunderclap coming to get past my patrol… I was going to take advantage of my Verdant Tree and build a Tower, but I’ll respect the Thunderclap potential and build my Tech 2 now. Oof, Thunderclap can hit nearly everything. I guess midband Calamandra will be key to protect from this.
Alright, I got some nice draws, get to play a big bird illusion with some good support. Entanging Vines would catch the Roc but I’m not expecting that. Still, beefy Glimmer can hurt! I’m out of cards but I can grab a Tiger with Calamandra and Reteller will help.
Well… I got Macciatus back, that’s good… but I would really have liked to have the Reteller in hand as well. Guess I’ll buy an extra MIrror instead; maybe I’ll get myself a pair of Rocs next turn…
Dreamscape timing seems good for me here. Things are getting complicated! I’m glad I remembered about Calamanda’s stealth, that seems to be a good move. Feels weird to focus on the legendary rock when Galina is more dangerous, but my beefy tiger could be used well without taking too much damage. I’m not sure about my tech choices here… the mirrors can turn into anti-air if I put a huntress into play or maxband argagarg. I guess I’ll have to deal with Sirus before I can deal with the birds. Maybe I should have tech’d in another Roc?

I’m completely overwhelmed here, and will probably lose. I’m prioritizing the Tree in case one of those 2 cards is a Liberty Gryphon.

Okay, I yield! GG WP. I guess I need Green starter after all, since I was definitely having econ problems this game and Galina’s ability could have been a big help with that if I’d powered it up.
It’s true that Galina was an odd pick as the only green unit. But in exchange I didn’t have access to most of my spells until the end. Since the legendary focus kind of forces Galina to be viable, maybe you do get a lot of value from green for this particular deck though.
I appreciated learning about the tension between wanting to get anti air units costing 2 gold to deal with birds and Entangling Vines sidelining units costing 2 or less gold.
I also appreciated getting a lot of value from Dreamscape, thanks buddy!
It’s coming to the spooky season, so I’d like to switch decks to [Disease] / Discipline / Growth. Would you like a rematch next weekend with me as P1?
I’m guessing you mean Thunderclap rather than Entangling Vines. Either or both would have helped me respond to your T6, but I just didn’t have the capacity to fit them in, both in terms of gold and tech slots.
And yeah, I really had to swallow a bitter pill to play that Dreamscape. I wanted to play it alongside Macciatus and the Reteller, but the draws just never lined up, so I had to either go a piece at a time or hold off indefinitely. In hindsight, I probably should have held off… maybe bought a Tower instead or something.
I see you’re taking a different approach to those three heroes than I traditionally have, and I’m very curious to see what you have planned! I’d love to play again next weekend.
Yeah, I figured the Dreamscape was an unfortunate draw. I’m sure if I didn’t have a Roc the dream birds would have been a big problem for me!
I did mean Thunderclap rather than Entangling Vines. It feels like those spells aren’t commonly used, but when I play against Rook I often find myself in positions very vulnerable to them. If you continue to experiment with this deck with the Blue starter I can imagine that the potential to restrict both available spells and reliable patrollers could force some real tough decisions!
Looking forwards to our game next weekend, let me know on Friday which deck you will use

Onimaru… that’s annoying. I’ll match that potential for aggression with Jandra. Certainly that makes things a little silly without a Demonology follow through, but if I can trade her out early for Onimaru that’d be great.

Thoughts
Sweet sickness! Now there’s a card economy disparity, but my board presence should be a problem. I suppose Graveyard can help with my card problem. Going to need Carrion Curse to fish out snapback and whatnot.
