I guess we’ll delay a Tech I building and go down on hand size to press the advantage. I know he gets makeup gold from Scavenger, but it feels good to remove the prospector entirely so he can only work with Calamandra for the moment and even that’s curtailed thanks to the Reputable Newsman. I suppose he could opt for stealth to kill the Newsman and then cast Rampant Growth if he has it, but that’s costly.

Well, that was the worst of all outcomes I was expecting, but we’re not in a half-bad position given that Hugh has no spells in hand and a much reduced hand to begin with. I can take this moment to replenish my own hand size and stabilize.

Surprised I didn’t get hit a bit harder with pseudo Haste, but I’m happy to take a tech lead and limit his board to just Quince.

I think patrolling the Newsman in SQL was worse for his board position than giving me some free levels by having Quince out there, but he might have Teched into Quince spells (Dreamscape to counter Ancients seems likely) so we’ll see what comes of it. I think the only way my Treant does is to Hallucination but I’ll put it in Technician anyway just in case.
