Casual Dreamfire vs Moby Dick test games

@Dreamfire I would start with [Finese] Strength Discipline, this test is more important for me. Maybe we have time for the other matchup after the rematch.

I think my deck is stronger, so feel free to add additional buffs to Bashing if you want. You can start as well, which should help for your test.

Finesse/White is indeed a strong combo, we’ll see if I can keep up. GL HF!

Not a lot of options with this opening split.

@Moby_Dick’s turn!

If anyone can keep up it’s you. But I just want to test one explicit strategy, and don’t exploit weaknesses of your deck. And against that strat it seems not too bad.

Are you sure you want to open like that? I have no problem if you redraw. If you start weak your test will probably not work and my one is not worth much… Or was it on purpose, just let me know.

It’s also not much of a test if it relies on lucky draws :man_shrugging:

Agree, just in most of the cases I would face hero + messenger/tenderfoot.

I’ll wait another turn to tech Discord.
Edit: didn’t actually change my tech choices, just wanted to re-establish the “fog of war”.

@Moby_Dick’s turn!

Yesterday, when you postet your turn, I had a pop up on my computer. Have not seen that before. Probably because I had it open in the background or still was logged in or both. It showed me your input, but not hidden. So I have seen 2 iron man but not was your next hand looks like. I deactivated notifications, let’s see if that disappears now.

I think it is not an issue for our current game it is anyway just a test. I already thought that you teched at least 1 iron man especially with the float. Midband midori with no skill units + maxband bloom for tech building kill I think. I played like if I would do if I had not the info. I would have secured with tenderfoot on sl just in case you have a fencer. Hope that is OK for you.

Dreamfire offers trades, OK I take them. Don’t want them buffed by Midori. Let’s start the one man rook show.

Of course you can change your tech choice if you want, but i know that is what you want to test. Or check my tech choice to compensate.

Hmm, that’s unfortunate. I’ll take up your offer and change my tech choices a bit (edited above). And I’ll try to add a line as a buffer at the top of my posts.

OK very interesting options exactly what I want to test. Rook with neutral is probably one of the strongest strats vines on Iron man is for both the same:

  1. Tenderfoot + midband rook kill midori, thief 1 damage on tech 1. His answer can be
  • iron man t 1 gold unit + tech2. → Bloom rook maxband killt iron man thief trades
  • Fencer/ozelot +hero 2g unit + tech2 → bloom rook killt sl, maxband thief damages hero
  • Staying on tech 1 killing rook with wither and fencer ->tech 2 (need to tech 2 tech 2 units)
    2 Variants bring me in a good position for erthquake one round later, the last one I don’t like so much.
  1. Midband rook damages tech1. Birds. → Midori cannot kill tenderfoot on sl, with bloom birds thread.
  • Iron man + tech 2 → rook + birds kill iron man, maxband. Maxband midori + break tech 2, but not a good positoin for him.
  • Fencer/ozelot + 2 g unit + tech 2. Rook + bird kill sl, maxband. Rook should survive but a bit weaker position vs above but he would go on 3 cards. Makes no sense
  • Staying on tech 1: Makes no sense

I think it is option 2. with one bad outcome at option1, which is an unnessary to risk. Will be difficult for him to get out there. But if I lose rook…

Ok, he did not change. Option 1 from last turn would have been better. And I did not consider that he might kill birds now. So far no tower, so could be that discord might come. And then I would need brick thief… Risk is too high, I need to hit now.

I thought it would be Bashing. Maybe he changed due to vines. So Potent basilisk is in the next cycle.

I need worker skip, don’t want risk tech break.

Post draw: Very lucky draw sorry, this should end the game. Did not want to end it so easy… Maybe he manages tech break with Fencer + mimic, then the draw was not good :slight_smile:

@Moby_Dick’s turn!

Sorry I have got a good draw, which should decide the game. It was anyway not balanced. I think this is one of the storngest strats in the game. Thought your strat with Iron man might work quite good, but not with your unlucky start. Maybe you have a way out…

Discord hit me, good that I already have the damage on the buildings. No brick thief reparairing tech 2 and no tech break. I don’t think there is a way out. But Maybe he teched mainly spells.

Nope, no way out, GG WP!

Your turn to go as P1 if you’re interested.

Sure! I had some findings, so I am fine. If i play the same again I force you in double basilisk. You should have something from the game as well. I can offer the second best route grave + virtuosos, ok?

Or do want me to play another strat?

Please don’t tell me what strat you’re doing in advance :rofl:

This is a test game, so we both want to learn something from it. And I have a different perspective on this game. Usually you cannot do something against the best strats. Yes hero hate would work, against the Rook strat I played, and basilisk I would count to that. Just to name examples, Nightmare fencers or Vandy lobber in burning legion. There is no strategy against that. You can just win it with better tactical decisions. I don’t see something in your deck that would be a safe win against Grave fencer. Maybe Midori midband iron man is an option but it is not a safe vicory.
