Sorry I dropped the ball on replying here, caught me on a busy week.
Bigby
The “sideline a patroller” feels more late-game impactful but the 3/3 is an interesting change we could try
This I think makes sense and does make it slightly less risky to try, could be really swingy so have to be careful of that.
This would be super strong. I could maybe see steal or gain 1g (if opponent has nothing to steal) but borrowing from the opponent’s worker pool I think could be game-warpingly strong. That’s likely denying tech2 setup to most decks. Tax Collector would probably need to be 2/2 even to add the “gain 1g” part, as a 2/3 for 1 (or even net zero with the steal) is already probably too good.
I like this as a way to curb the very strong change we tried before of just adding 1 damage wherever without tapping.
Wanna start a new game w/ 3/3 Bigby, 4g Community Service, and the Musketeer arrives shot?
@FrozenStorm I’m definitely still up for playing a game with these ideas, just been struggling for time the last few weeks. I’m about to stop work for a week so if I’m finding myself able to keep on top of my tournament turns in round 4 then I’ll get this going.

Musketeer lets me keep his board small while building mine. Let’s try Brave Knight with a Scribe to help hand size and as StW protection. Gold float means midbanding Oni isn’t quite so painful.

Well this is looking really nice for me! Because I caught both teched in cards in hand last turn, and now have caught his discard, I know a lot about his deck construction and his current hand. He must have only starter cards in hand, so something like Imp, Jav, StW and then probably Graveyard or Haunt unless he particularly values Summon Skeletons. That means his only way to kill my Knight is via Orpal midband, and the sacrifice for that will put even more pressure on his board and hand. I’m imagining that Imp probably comes out here to hit my hand down and he techs up. In case he does play for Orpal midband I’ll put Newsman in Lookout to make it more costly to spread runes around. Otherwise I’m hoping he doesn’t hit Community Service with Imp discard and that I can pull decent value out his hand and onto my side of the board as I work my own Tech plan.
Whelp lol spose I should tech spells and T1 til I’m sure I’m safe from that! big yikes, big gamble and it pays off. I think threatening maxband orpal is about the best I can hope for here, I probably get killed by Bigby and Ghoulie, then I tech up and hope for the best at tech 2. Not all lost yet but definitely in bad shape!

Another excellent catch for me here, he only has one unit he can play in hand, so if I take the Plague Spitter he can’t build board or get any runes into play to combining deteriorate. Also nice that he’s stuck on Orpal and can’t pivot to Vandy for Dark Pact. Given he won’t have anything else to spend the gold on I’m guessing he’ll tech up and build a HH to give him hero options. Got to be careful I don’t let him get a D&D off.
@FrozenStorm I’m not expecting to finish this game now but I think it’s safe to conclude that 4g community service is incredibly strong and probably broken alongside the other changes. It’s hard because 5g feels a lot more than 4g
Are you still minded to do any more testing or has the new codex release kind of curbed your enthusiasm? My recent casual games of white vs blue have given me food for thought about buffing blue given how hard that matchup feels for white. My experience to date tells me that it’s Blue’s best monocolour matchup by far
I think I like that if it’s 2 cast 3 extra or maybe even 3 cast 2 extra. The goal is to reduce the all in nature of it and make whiffing less punishing I think. The information is still worth something and I think the card should still hurt a bit to whiff but I agree @thehug0naut 4g feels too cheap and 5 too expensive, it’s a big difference and it’s too bad there’s no middle number. I like @Bryce_The_Rice 's solve
This game is definitely doomed lol GG wp, I have no shot but happy to start another
I had been thinking something similar to @Bryce_The_Rice’s suggestion. Maybe we can get the costing to 4.5ish via:
2g → Look at an opponents hand or discard then choose one:
+2g → Put a Tech I unit from there into play under your control
+3g → Put a Tech II unit from there into play under your control
Also @FrozenStorm I’ve rolled a new game as P1 but I drew an absolute trash tier opening hand. Is there utility to randomising the start or should we be pressure testing with ideal picks a la latest tournament?
