It costs you 1 gold to attack setsuki
It costs 1 to attack Setsuki in backline, what are you skipping that you played?
Ah - my apologies, I missed that… obviously.
Well, not that I’m smitten or anything, but in my opinion, Setsuki is worth it! So, I think I would certainly have paid to attack her, then not played Scribe, and used my last $1 on a worker.
The card I drew with Scribe
Spectral Hound - it was the only card left in my deck, which would be a rad card to play with only $1 left to spend, but if I can’t play Scribe I can’t draw it.
This would mean unwinding a reshuffle when drawing my T9 hand, and drawing less cards.
Yea, just take the card you drew from Scribe, put it in your hand, put the rest of the cards (including the scribe) in your draw pile, and draw 2 of them (since after a worker and no scribe, you would be dc 1 draw 1 rs draw 2). I’ll play on as if that’s what happened, if you have any patrol edits though please lmk
No patrol edits, just Tiger in SQL, and Reteller in Technician - I’ll retcon my turn now.
Also just an FYI bigby is on 2hp, he didn’t heal from last turn

Oh I thought he was maxbanded already… Not paying close enough attention. You’re right, bigby at maxband with 4hp

Thoughts
OK, got a couple of card draws coming to me this turn, but what’s in my deck that I’d actually like to see?
Rad - Injunction!
OK - Spectral Roc x2, Spectral Hound, Spectral Flagbearer, Lawful Search
Bad - Arrest, Building Inspector
Unplayable - Macciatus, Liberty Gryphon, Free Speech
So I don’t actually like my chances of pulling out win conditions here.
Hmm, pulled out the Rocs. They’re gonna be good assuming he doesn’t play Bird’s Nest again… which, I mean, he’d obviously do that if he could. But hey, these are the cards I’ve been dealt. That I teched into my deck for myself to deal. I only have myself to blame. Still! If I can get a round in prior to another Brid’s next casting, I may be able to get a tech break and pull ahead.
Let’s see, if he’s holding it now, then he can cast it and it’s a hard counter to the Rocs. If he pulls it next turn, I’ll hopefully get 1 tech break in, and could potentially get Free Speech off. And if I’m really lucky he won’t pull it until the turn after that… if we’re still going by then. OK, I’ll stash the other Roc and hope to get lucky.
@FrozenStorm’s turn!
This is quite the game indeed!

Thoughts
Oh, he was holding Bird’s Nest after all. Whew, it’s hard being right all the time.
On the plus side I’m now in the position to Arrest Porcupine again, which amuses me, if only it wasn’t made moot by Injunction.
Well, with a board wipe, no heroes available to cast spells, and with only Tech 0 and I units available to play, this could be game.
@FrozenStorm’s turn!
GG WP! I can’t come back from that
Good game! Looks like you got a bit unlucky there, and it felt quite even. I suspect as P2 Blue may not have taken the W there. Arrest and Injunction felt pretty strong.
Starting to get pretty warmed up, but I’d like another 1-2 games before we start proper - especially with P2 starts.
Arrest definitely kicked my butt a bit there. I’m down to warm up some more for your P2, lets do it GL HF!

Thoughts
ergh, I don’t really like any of this.
Safe Attacking is quite strong. Especially with the freaking birds, which are undoubtedly coming. Best counter is to attack before they can benefit from Safe Attacking. If I tech 2x Elite training, then cast Lawful Search, I have a 40% chance of drawing one of them. If I do then I can wipe his patrol. If I don’t… then I’ll have delayed Tech I units, and I’ll have $4 to spend ($3 if I build Tech I). I’d really want to get newsman down to block $2 cost spells. And one other unit to screen newsman…?
Thing is if I don’t tech 2x spells and conduct a Lawful Search then I’ve still got a 40% chance of drawing a Tech I card, which I can’t play. Not the end of the world, but it will gum things up a bit. I don’t have to play Lawful Search obviously…
I could counter Safe Attacking with a Tower… that’d mean I wouldn’t get Newsman and Tech I built this turn.
Lets say he plays Birds on his turn. On my turn, 80% chance I hold Aven. So that can kinda counter one of them… and maybe Scribe to recover hand size. I’ll have $7, so that’d account for $4, $5 with worker, and I’m still a little short on a tower.
Blargh, I’m just going to hope I hit on Elite Training, and possibly GG next turn if I don’t? Ok, that might be a bit melodramatic, but the starts on Blue P2 feel wicked brutal.
Well I hit, don’t like it that I’m still behind on Tech buildings… let’s see how this plays out.
@FrozenStorm’s turn!
Just want to give a chance to remind that you have one patroller and Rook can midband to sneak past it
Ah, thanks, I had neglected that. But honestly, I think I’m OK to proceed as is, I really don’t want to leave you with units on the board to benefit from Safe Attacking, and I don’t have too many other ways of clearing them. So whilst I wouldn’t say I welcome Onimaru’s assasination - you may go ahead and have your two free levels.
