[XCAFS22] Round2: P1 Penatronic [Strength]/Anarchy/Balance vs P2 zango [Necromancy]/Finesse/Future

@zango GL HF, I think these are all the relevant balance changes

|Garth|Reduce midband stats to 2/3|
|MoLaC|If you have no units in play, remove all runes from this|
|Lich’s Bargain|Base damage increased from 4 to 6|
Deteriorate Increase cost to 1
Bird’s Nest Change Upkeep to “Resummon one lost bird (max: 2)”
And gunship!

Nice split

Well, I hope we will not find ourselves in the situation, where one of us tries to summon a MoLaC
But maybe we should think of the gunship nerf as well.

Either way, I wish you a lot of fun and good luck in this game!

real question here is what the heck is my late game play. mimics seems ok but definitely weaker than finesse. gunship also does not have nearly the same luster it used to, and strength tech is lol. If i tech in t2 units it should be now, but it may make sense to go Rook go big next turn instead.

I keep forgetting about the possibility of an early tower. Must confess I didn’t think of that one when I evaluated your possible responses…

again struggling with what to tech in. maybe I should have just gone yolo on the Rook and tried to win that way. Horselord seems like it could be an option but with how wide his board is a grounded guide would probably turn them over.

There are a few things off.

Should be t4

Should be 3/1

Should be 8

Should be discard 3, reshuffle, draw 5

Should be hand 5, Deck 4

I assume that nothing changes about your turn itself?

I must have double hit reshuffle or something I need to audit my sheet to make sure i didn’t do something I can’t do

Well, assuming that you already had birds nest in hand end of turn 3, I’ll post my turn here.
I deem this extremely likely because otherwise you would have played the nest last turn and no cards were left in your deck, so you must have had it in hand at the beginning of turn 4 unless you teched it after t2, which seems highly unlikely. Just the additional worker is really odd.
I’ll remove the blur, once you state that everything is fine.

Edit: removed the blur.

okay, so far he plays exactly what I expected. The big question is what did he tech after the expected two Mimics and how long can I make a stand against his incoming agression until hopefully my better economics kicks in

I think I fixed it, I’m not sure how I did it but I accidentally did two workers and I think my turn count was from a previous accidental discard/draw instead of tech draw.

LMK if it looks right and I will post next turn

Looks good, and as nothing changed from the turn itself I removed the blur above.

not the finesse units I expected, but I guess this is better than a bunch of buffed minions wrecking my base? That tower must have messed with his combat math more than I thought it would. Seems like my board state is really good, even if he snaps back with a couple good cards it shouldn’t be that hard to stay ahead.

GPT is dead

I am a mess this game. 100% do not recommend playing this game while you are having a work week from hell and are bachelor dad while mom is at a conference

Yeah well, luckily for me I have not had to deal with such a situation with my two little ones, yet… All the best! Obviously real life is more important than this nerd game, but do you have an estimate how/when you’ll be able to continue? Only playing one turn in 5 days isn’t exactly what I was hoping for when the whole tournament is waiting for this game to finish.

Just give me the L, I don’t want to hold everyone up and I don’t have a ton of free time in the next few days.

@charnel_mouse your call, but my two cents: as there are only 6 players left I would favor giving @Penatronic a bit more time…

I’m fine with that, but I would like to see things having moved along by Monday: it will have been two weeks.
