I’m pretty sure that’s because the discard from shadow blade is triggered as well.

Kinda surprising that he didn’t attack a building with the Haunt, considering I don’t have a Tower up, but I’m not complaining. Hmm… if I had Grappling Hook here, I could kill Vandy, maxband Rook, and go straight for Earthquakes… but, that’s not an option. I’ll operate on the assumption that my patrollers are going to die.
