I guess I see. I mean, this game alone shows how insanely strong it can be. I was under the impression you filled in the tech choice before you even saw battle suits. I think I misunderstood when I looked at the log. Battle suits is a clear indication I want to flood the board with units that benefit rather than time manipulation weirdness, so it makes sense at that point to give yourself the option to just full clear.
In retrospect, I probably should have gone Origin Story as soon as Vandy maxed that early. Having a maxed hero that may need to be 3-for-1 in order to kill it is scary, and purple has a way to get rid of the threat. I just feared it wouldnât cycle to my hand in time and then Iâd lose other valuable units (getting both Argonauts down was great with battle suits and made me think I had practically won). It just didnât occur to me that an Ultimate Spell would have been teched early enough to fear it at that point.

While the teching step is listed as the last step of your turn, you donât actually finalize your decision and add the cards to the Discard until the beginning of your next turn.
Also yes, Origin Story should be a useful tool for Purple against Metamorphosis.

I get this is true in board play, but the spreadsheet makes this very cumbersome to do in forum play. Since you didnât edit that post, I assume you teched before seeing my play.

It only returns a hero to their Command Zone, so you donât get any levels and they can choose to resummon that hero on their turn.

It is just returning. It also doesnât prevent me from immediately resummoning him, so I think itâs mostly useful against high-level heroes.
