Yeah whats the answer to this early pressure? Honestly im kicking myself for not going harder on early pressure Grave strats with Mono-White more, seems very difficult for anyone to build board against such strong early pressure. Seems to be a theme throughout Codex actually, Seems like a Turtle defense is so difficult to build

FINALLY I get BROgre turn 1. This puts me in ideal position where he has to be concerned about losing Grave for free levels, as Bombaster/Scorch + Mad Man means I can cut through a Savior Monk / Smoker next turn defense of a 3/1 lvl 3 Grave. Perhaps it really has been that draws just didn’t line up for me to play optimally into this pressure, I’m going to keep an open mind about utilizing Anarchy Tech 2 in this matchup, though I still feel like Barbs are the way to go. Versatile Style does NOT affect ongoing spells though, so Panda Spirit is definitely a good tech in my eyes!

One other thing I’ve missed in previous goes at this matchup is that turn 2 getting Water Elemental in would have been SUPER helpful, and I think I’ll aim to do that this game, perhaps even forgoing tech 1 until turn 3 (?).

Awesome, now his early pressure is dissipated, he can’t gain advantage from Reversal, he HAS to pay 4 gold to kill Elemental safely, and I get to build tech 2 safely and have a decent shot at Doubling Barb the next turn. I’m almost guaranteed Arg to survive as well, though that isn’t a huge deal if I don’t have spells in the deck for him

Of Course, I DO hit the low chance to draw doubling Barb (2/7? ugh) but at least I can do other things like max Zane if I want to…

Le sigh… I’m in trouble. Going to try Grappler this game, if I can manage to protect him or draw Charge together with him I can wreck some ninjas, that’d be huge value. Chaos Mirror + Colossus isn’t a terrible idea either, nor is doing a Mythmaking + Morningstar Pass deal, but I didn’t play for that this game…
