can i leave oni on 1hp? can i risk hiring an aven? what should i block with reputable newsman? im weary of overusing lawful search because of the security it gives, but here it’s not closing many of my options and it lets me know how to use my available units… but hang on, fire spells dont actually care whether a hero is low, flame arrow is the only one that can hit a backline hero, and if he has unphase or reversal then oni’s probably dead unless i can newsman it, so no matter what i see i think im going to attack, and then i still want to see to know which units to play, but eh could also attack in a different way come to think of it if i k i can leave Oni low

if he has them and i patrol that’s a waste, if he doesnt and i attack it’s not so bad macciatus can hang around on low hp

guessing at least 2 bamstampers, an unphase and maybe 1 fire spell, he has Vir’s peek, gives him a decent chance of getting something to kill macciutus before the rest, patrol accordingly

nothing to kill Vir against means no ember sparks

could kill vir instead of tech 2, but unphase isn’t so bad the only think firebat can kill is macciatus and he’s fine to lose now i’m onto gryphons

yeah hard to tell, i think perhaps you should have but i did have manufactured truth so a pretty easy Vir kill afterwards, and you spent all your gold and firebat isn’t free, hard choice! i think with the matchup between our tech 2s stalling my rush would’ve been very valuable, one turn with a bamstamper and an ember sparks would probably win the game. As it was double time wasn’t the win con tho, i think you went for it in that last turn in a “if they have gryphon i’ve lost anyway so might as well play as if they dont” style decision?

Looking at your thoughts back then i think you’d agree now that aged sensei+hero would’ve been better than primus - it was too easy for me to protect a BI which when you’re paying a multi-colour penalty too becomes pretty painful

These were fun and interesting games though, it was cool to hear about the effect of a lingering bigby on your decisions. I’m still down to play some more, any match-up you want to try?
