If it helps you decide which way seems fairer, I wasn’t using Elite to stop that particular effect hitting Flagbearer, it was for StW/Hoodie protection. On the other hand, I also think forced weakest feels more in keeping with Black than choosing without targeting.
That all said, I think as your turn is written you’d have to StW the Flagbearer not the Aven, Aven has 4 attack when you play StW compared to Flagbearer’s 3.
Okay gotcha, apologies for the confusion, I meant it as a shorthand for what I had described.
StW prioritizes lower tech over lower attack power so I’m confused why you’d suggest it needs to be Flagbearer (a tech 1) over Aven (a tech 0). “The lowest tech unit with the least attack” is Aven, as it is the only tech 0 unit.
EDIT I’ve re-read the Flagbearer text as well and Flagbearer only requires it be the choice of targets “when using a targeting spell or ability”. So I don’t think I’d need to chose it with Vandy maxband even if we were still making it my choice of tech 0 or tech 1 unit. I still like the weakest unit text better, like you said it fits with Black and adds a drawback potential of buffing opposing units on their turn.

Lawful Search really helped figure out the best plan for board control. I didn’t see much use for Bigby outside of spell casting so giving me even more cards to work with seems like a plan. I think without Vandy and his Tech II disabled he’s in a lot of trouble, he can only draw one card with Garth so I don’t see how he gets rid of both Flagbearers and gets to Oni. I’ve teched Jurisdiction because I think Bigby is a low priority for him to kill and I’d like to have access to Free Speech on my next turn if possible. Newsman is a good substitute though, hence Stashing him.
Very fortunate technician here breaks the game wide open, glad I teched the second Sickness. Probably should have gotten Nether Drain and Hoodie too, but happy to be lucky Up two workers and a tech building and now big board presence, I think it should be all but over

Well I wouldn’t mind hosting another tournament but will not be able to play for myself and I hesitated with intervening in a proper way to bring the necessary balance changes to a new agreement. If you manage the latter I would love to do the former…

Obviously I went too low hand in this game, I thought I would be able to recover faster than I did but then each turn I felt like I needed to keep up the card spend to keep you on the back foot. I also kept expecting to draw Art of War but I’d bottom decked it!
I think we should play some more games to evaluate our changes further. Do you want me to stick as P1 or should we switch back to P1 Black and focus on that matchup?
I agree, down on cards was aggro and with better luck might have worked out, plus a timely draw of sickness for me makes me think we’re on the right track with the nerfs here. Go ahead and start another game and let’s see where this lies after a couple more!

I think the way to play this is let Vandy kill Bigby which might force her to buff the Aven. Still won’t be able to kill her but at least she’ll be left on 1HP
