2HD: Team 1 Blue/Purple

I agree with @Marto that we should probably worker Neo Plexus. I assume we worker Bluecoat Muskteer on the blue side?

If weā€™re going to be teching beefy Tech 1 units for Purple, and putting the Mox to work, Iā€™m thinking we might want to consider Past Tech 2. Red / Black have no answer for upgrades, and Second Chances looks like a good fit for this matchup. We might even get use out of Slow-Time Generator. It looks like it scales well in 2HD, as itā€™ll be effectively cheaper for us to play it. The big impact I think it has is that it makes it way harder for them to leverage their insta-maxband hero effects.

Agree on workering musketeer and plexus

Tower can only be built by one deck and affects everything that attacks, but still only detects one thing per turn.

I think it depends on what they do, but I think weā€™ll want Oni (partially to hit back with, partially for boot camp. If we keep the float, I like dropping director in addition to inspector

Next turn we face at least 7-worth atk (plus sparkshot). Building a Tower seems to be pretty necessary. So Purple would build Tower, Tech I and float 1 (worker Plasmodium I guess ?).

Blue turn will need some second thoughts though. We have 6 gold, 4 after worker (Spectral Aven ? Unless we go for a Truth tech II it is unplayable against black and red) and tech I. I suggest Inspector over Traffic D but anyway either should die pretty soon soā€¦
The question is: do we summon a hero ? (Iā€™d say yes) And who ?

With Mox as SQL 1, Newsman as SQL 2 and Inspector as any Tech/Scav, we have 7 hp to oppose Red/Black 's 7 atk. With Deteriorate, they can disable Mox, so if they add Charge on something or Rambaster, we lose the Tower. So maybe we should patrol our hero ?
If we do, I believe summoning Quince should work as well as any other, as they can use both heroes and skeleton on newsman; hence our heroā€™s Atk doesnā€™t matter against Haunt/Dog. So I suppose having a free Mirror would be fine, especially if we draw Manufacturing Truth on T3.

Now, what do we tech ?
For Purple, I honestly do not know. I would tech at lease one Stewardess, as Red tech 0 are decent and I suspect Bombaster/Ogre on next turn, and against Garth, Stewardesses are a must. Maybe we could tech 2x Stewardess, or a Glaxx for some Quince midbanding ?

For Blue, Iā€™d tech 1 Cadet and 1 Brave Knight (some Manufacturing combo). Again, Spectral Hounds seem prohibited against Red/Black

Could get blown up but at least we recover resources for it, and tower forces bad trades generally? Oni should be safe to anything but an all-in attack, they are laying 4 damage on red and 3 on Black? Jaina can move up to 3 + sparkshot though, which would give Black an open lane at him.

As I mentioned (I guess we crossposted :wink: ), we must consider Deteriorate on Mox. Playing 2 units on Tech/Scav look very strange to me, as we could have all the lane blown out with little damage for Team 2 - Dog trades with TD, Garth and Jaina kill Newsman/Inspector. Whatā€™s more, with a Rambaster, weā€™d lose Tower (even without Deteriorate, a Midband Jaina/Garth would suffice).

I didnā€™t realize we can loan units to block for one another! Also yes, we must have posted nearly same time :slight_smile:

100% agree then that we should split a defender to Purpleā€™s side.

Also, am I extrapolating from your posts that they need to penetrate BOTH patrols to hit EITHER backline?

The patrol zones protect both players, so even if one opponentā€™s patrol zone is empty, you still canā€™t attack that playerā€™s buildings if you could have attacked patrollers in his partnerā€™s patrol zone. You also might be facing two squad leaders.

Okay yea, I went and re-read the Rules of this (Page 15 of this PDF for Two Headed Dragon Mode) and we CANT put patrollers in our partnerā€™s zone, but BOTH ZONES are protecting EITHER PLAYERā€™S backline (and we have the shared 30hp base, nice extra padding against hyper-aggro red and black).

In that case, I think your argument for Quince is sound, as is the case for playing only one of TD/Inspector. I still would prefer to tech Boot Camp over BK I think though: we can MTruth off Purpleā€™s T1 units.

Is your proposed patrol for blue SQL Newsie, Quince Scav, Inspector Lookout, Mirror backline? I think I like that as well

So, some Tech speculation:

Purple: 1/2 Stewardess and 1/0 Argonaut/Gilded Glaxx
Iā€™m worried about surviving the next couple turns, and the tempo gained from Stewardess and bulk of a 3/4 makes me feel better about that. Since weā€™re playing against 2 players, 1x Stewardess will almost always hit something, but 2x might not. As for Argonaut v. Glaxx, Iā€™m tending towards Glaxx, since it scales better, and Iā€™m not sure Argonautā€™s ability matters much right now.
Blue: This oneā€™s harder. I want to tech a Boot Camp because itā€™s really good, but it kind of only makes sense if we donā€™t play Onimaru this turn. But weā€™re a bit low on stats against their board this turn, and that makes playing him sound good. Quince can get a few bodies patrolling, and they are weak, but Tower shores that up.
