It appears I may have made… slight errors in assessing the strength of you puny people.

I was assigned to do battle with an unholy abomination: a humanoid feline. (Mae Borowski/@gutterowl). When I first approached, the cat was demure and deceptive, claiming she had little training and was unprepared for our battle.

And I, like a foolish fool, let down my guard.

I was overconfident! But can you blame someone as wholly perfect and powerful as I for being overconfident?

And so, I was shocked when the battle commenced and a heavy, arcane shadow fell over us. Were I not trained in the art of perfect perception I may very well have been completely blind.

And then, silver leg bound in leather stepped out of the oppressive darkness.

To my horror it was one of the ancient ones, the Nox Oracle! What kind of demonic knowledge did this fearsome feline have to be able to summon it?

Before I knew what was happening, I was tied up, kicked down, and helpless.

Having wholly and unceremoniously brought me to my knees, the cursed cat climbed out of the shadows and flashed a most infuriating grin. And then like a smiling cheshire, she was gone.

It was a most harrowing experience.

But!

There are no second chances in life. We cannot return to what has already transpired.

There is no other way than to move forward, like an arrow of light piercing through the darkness.

Mark my words, Mae Borowski! We shall meet again on the field of battle!

I got demolished and demoralized by some of the best Persephone play that I, personally, have experienced. Gutterowl was reading my like a picture book and serving up damage like it was bread at an Olive Garden. Well played! Good luck with the rest of the tournament!

I’m also kind of happy that for once switching to Setsuki did not work out for me. :laughing:[/details]

:persephone::psfist::pschip::zane: Block a K at 6 hp, tough it out with repeated AA spam for a 1 hp win.
:persephone::psfist::pschip::zane: Eat an MA at 51 hp, run it back for the second 1hp win.
:persephone::pschip::psfist::zane: Get perfected.
:quince::pschip::psfist::zane: Almost make a runback from 13 hp, but he guesses right on my Spin turns.
:gwen::psfist::pschip::zane: Rush him down with 20+ damage throws.

Zejety beats @ClanNatioy 4-2.
:gwen::psfist::knockdown::bbb: Attackattackattackdodgeattack! Persistently attacked into blocks to avoid range. Ended up at half HP despite only getting hit, like, once early.
:gwen::psfist::knockdown::bbb: Sensing I can’t get away with mono attack, I started weaving in some throws to great effect.
:gwen::psfist::knockdown::bbb: More of the same.
:gwen::knockdown::psfist::bbb: we see the first Long Range of the set and Clan shows how great his ranged reads are.
:gwen::knockdown::psfist::bbb: Going to range early-ish, taking lots of damage. Got out at a huge life disadvantage and Clan would not let me come back.
:gwen::psfist::knockdown::bbb: A close game. Both of us were around 20hp at the end. I think I managed to escape an early Range in this one.

GGs! I’m glad I got my revenge for IYL in a satisfying set.

I’ve had some bad days since I started work as a private investigater. But I’ve never woken up dead before.

I suppose I did wake up, which is more than can be said for the strange orange armoured man I left behind me on the Ankh. Probably the only river in the universe on which it is possible to chalk the outline of a corpse.

Both of my last two matches have been forfeits. I’ve only played 1 match in the tournament thus far, and I haven’t played a real match in it in about a month. Come on, people, fight me!

On the plus side, sounds like @Zejety is still trucking along in the Loser’s Bracket. Maybe that Lucas Arts Showdown will become a reality after all?
