To me, if you can’t get a good neutral game going the first few turns, it’s really hard to turn things around so that game was looking really bad since I misread your turn being about Setsuki when it was really about Graves. Reversal and Drakk kill were pretty devastating for me. So not too disappointing to stop playing that game

Alright, let’s try and make some guesses: He’s going for a Setsuki-centric plan, given that she’s max and he just played Shuriken Hail. So very likely, he has tech’d in her ult and that’s a big problem. To counter that, I should try and kill Sets this turn, which I think I can do with Zane. Mad Man can act like a free point of damage for 1g and let’s rambaster stay alive to peck at Tech I. I could Zane-shove into scavenger and then Pillage, doesn’t seem great because I’m workering Bombaster and Mad Man is not a pirate. Bloodburn seems like it would be useful, but soooo expensive. Maybe I worker that instead. After doing the math, I would have to skip worker to Zane-blast Sets this turn, because it costs 1 to attack her. Also not enough to use Mad Man, I would lose Rambaster. It’s a really really costly attack, but it probably screws up his plans? Also stops him from drawing 2 cards! Which is a ton. And stops him from ulting. Yeah, I guess I have to do it.

I have lots of ways to do 4 damage. Suicide Zane, then Jaina -> Flame Arrow. Hire BRO and cast Charge. Hell, just suicidng Zane is 4 damage. But Rook has 4 HP and the SL position giving him an armor is really making my life difficult. I could suicide Zane, then suicide Rambaster but next turn I would have no board if I tech up. There’s no real benefit to teching up with my deck being so bloated right now. Definitely workering Bloodburn, it was not meant to be. He has a lot of hero-centric gameplans and I don’t see it making a difference. I gotta rebuild a board so I can stay on the offensive, not give him an opportunity to easily make trades.

Rook having 4 HP is so annoying, every time. This time I can do 3 damage very easily. Mid-band Zane? 3. Max-band Zane ping + Lobber? 3. Oh, and the opportunity cost for not killing Rook? He will max-band Rook and win with double EQ. Or Max-band Rook and just have…a virtual 4/12 wall. I’m regetting not trading Jaina for Graves last turn. I think it was a mistake not to make that trade, though maybe it kept him from just playing Rook and max-banding immediately. I’ll never know. I do know that a Rook that is precariously level 3 is a terrible thing to let your opponent have and I can’t think through any turns that don’t involve killing Rook right now.

Damn, that was pretty much the worst case scenario for me. Turns off both of my Crashbarrows. Can’t build Tech III. Bleh. It’s a toss up between floating 5 gold and building a Surplus here. I think the Surplus is worse - gonna need that gold next turn, even though he’s probably breaking my Tech II again. If he draws the other Collosus, that’s probably game. Hell, even if he doesn’t, I’m really far behind here. Maybe I should build a Tower? Doesn’t do much against Collosi, but it will divert attention or at least start wittling down Graves. I’ll do it, still floats 2 gold. Edit: Forgot to pay for Bombaster. Couldn’t Surplus and only floating 1 with Tower…
