@FrozenStorm Alright, here’s your chance for the runback. I feel like your deck slightly prefers player 2 though, so we’ll see what happens, because I know my deck sure prefers player 2.
Forgotten Fighter, Temporal Research, Battle Suits, Time Spiral, Fading Argonaut
Discard
Neo Plexus, Nullcraft, Tinkerer
Think
Good split for me here, as long as imp doesn’t discard fading argonaut. If it does, I’m a little annoyed and lose a lot of board presence, so let’s just hope that doesn’t happen.
I think it’s more your deck strongly prefers P2, the extra gold can definitely be put to use for my side but I don’t know that P2 is actually preferred by my deck. Vandy likes to be the bully and operates fine on low gold generally
Let’s hope it’s not two games in a row of Nullcraft T2? I think it’s worth the risk given my options here. T1 + Thieving Imp next turn makes sense, if not HH as well if PBR dies. Still think Lich’s Bargain or skele spam could still be good, really not great early horde control for Bomber, and Discord can still be really good.
Thieving Imp
Nimble Fencer
Poisonblade Rogue
Sacrifice the Weak

My Thoughts
I think I gotta take the Mox disable. It gets such good value and I managed to keep PBR around to deal with it, might as well. Skeleton can block, I’ll tech usual since that’s been working for me and last time against Bomber I got cute and that proved ill advised.

My Thoughts
I think teching up here makes sense, I could do Fencer + HH instead and that would keep Vandy extra safe, but I’m not sure that really helps me more. I can pivot to a LOT of things teching up and Vandy’s still pretty safe here. Bloodlust + OC + Nullcraft really is the only possible killer, and that’s unlikely w/ me Imping.
Hmm, don’t want to worker anything here, but Tower serves the same purpose as battle suits ultimately, so we’ll lose that. The real question lies on what he’s holding this turn, and how much power he brings to bear. However, if he breaks my patrol and tech 2, I can maxband oni in response for a strong delay.

Teching Maestro + Fencer. I can midband for Dark Pact or Shadow Blade depending on what I draw. If I get fencer or Maestro, it may be worth trying for Dark Pact to start the engine. I could do 4 damage to a tech building and set up for a double kill. If I don’t, I can Det + Shadow Blade Fargo, giving me a pretty decent chance I sputter the peace engine (plus I kill one of those units over there). Expensive though. I think if it’s a Maestro I draw, I definitely do DP.
…
Fencer. Hm. This is the iffy territory. I think it’s still worth. Even StW isn’t an awful get, I can nip the Fargo and Plexus with Imp and Skele that way.
…
Well I got a Maestro at least This is fine, should still be good position, I’ll be able to take down Garrison if it goes up, I can tech a Discord for the spam, it’ll be all good
No that was just a ghost of a different line before I realized StW would get the kill done with less, edited it out cuz I actually discarded deteriorate as my one for draw lol
My draws have not been kind to me this game, and him not killing my technician has completely stalled me out. I foresee an incoming resurrected grounded guide, and a broken tech 2 next turn. If by some miracle my tech 2 stays alive, I should just win. Probably.

This should be game, Bomber must have either whiffed the Garrison or drawn it with no unit. Lucky for me, though I think I probably still would have steamrolled a Garrison
GG WP @Bryce_The_Rice! Bit of a bad break there drawing Garrison w/ no unit, though the only really good outcome would have been drawing Forgotten Fighter on the RS draw 2 end of turn 3. You needed Fargo or Nullcraft as options for the Garrison draw. Imp discard definitely helped reduce the odds though
@zango only time I tried skeleton spam it didn’t work out ain’t broke don’t fix it and such. Finesse Engine w/ DP for card draw very strong. At least this time I used Vandy midband, something I haven’t really done yet!
Yeah, you got cute there against this very strong deck of bomber’s. But I have a feeling that the two of you will get a chance to bring this matchup to a third round, as no matter who wins my current match, bomber will get the bye in order to prevent the direct rematch and frozen will likely be able to get past dreamfire/myself as our decks need very good draws to look nightmare into the eye. And if he doesn’t it’s still open to get a third match of the two of you.
(Sorry dreamfire for me saying so. I know you have already piloted this deck of yours to a tournament win, but having gunships nerfed weakens your deck way more than the nerfs in nightmare’s direction weakens that one. And even if one of us does manage to win against Frozen, it’s still possible to get this rematch I’m talking about.)
PS: my algorithm does not care in case of a second rematch what the P1/P2 setting was in the most recent match between these two players. It just checks the complete history and will find that the distribution of P1/P2 is even. Hence in such a case it will be drawn randomly who gets which side of the table. Should I change that to “please make the opposite of the very last match between the two players in question”?
No offense taken. Even in the one tournament I won with this deck, I lost my game (or games?) against Frozen’s nightmare. IIRC, at the time zhavier speculated that our three decks were Rock-Paper-Scissors.
Regarding your algorithm, I think the current setup is fair. The fact that someone was lucky to get P1 in the first match shouldn’t guarantee that they keep that advantage throughout a series.
