I felt like haste would be a theme but I guess we’ve only got that via Drakk abilities and Nimble Fencers. I haven’t the slightest clue what I should do with this deck.

Well, this deck is right up my alley, but is also better suited for P1. Also, my starting hand split is really bad. Well, I’ll just have to try to make it work. He chose to open with River, playing Green… which means if he wants to power-up to take a kill, he’ll have to pay extra for it. There’s no great play here, so let’s go with this and see what happens.

One of these years, I need to stop forgetting that River can cast Wither. At least teching Jurisdiction allows me to pivot my strategy. Guess I’ll use forget about Owls and go for Argonauts as more reliable patrollers, and to combo with Insurance Agent and Temporal Distortion later. For now, I’ll just tech up and stall… chances are I won’t have Jurisdiction in hand next turn, and I’ll probably be able to tech up next turn as well, so no real concern about locking myself out of spell access.

I could kill River by playing both spells, but with multicolor penalties, that would be super expensive… but with her being maxband, maybe it’s worth it. Half-tempted to try for Immortals, as they’re immune to River’s shenanigans, but that would be just asking for Kidnapping. Since I’m using Jurisdiction, I’m going to need an econ boost as well, so I’ll stick with the Agent plan.

Thoughts
Well, that’s an awfully large discard pile, and chances are, there’s something in there worth stealing. Looks like he’s aiming to load up Mimics with various abilities, and with only 3 starter cards in his discard and one on the field, I can deduce that the 2 cards in his hand must be limited to the Discord I saw earlier and 2 starter cards other than spells, which means I can be assured that that Basilisk will stay tiny next turn. My primary goal right now is to keep one of the Mimics out of his cycle when he reshuffles, which means Bigby has to eat the attack from the Basilisk, but at least I’ll be confident he’ll kill it in the process. I’d better kill Midori now, so he doesn’t maxband and snipe the Mimic from the sky. Now, should I stash the Argonaut, or not? If I don’t, I increase my chances of drawing a card I want to worker, but if I do, I can more reliably defend and prepare to make use of an Insurance Agent. How important is workering next turn to me…? I already have 10, so it probably shouldn’t be my top priority… especially with a small hand. Stash it is, then. I want to patrol Bigby as Technician, but if I do that, he’ll probably play a midband Drakk and take out my Tree… and a card on the field is more valuable than a card in hand. Besides, there’s also a possibility he’ll go for a maxband Drakk and take out the Mimic as well, which I can do nothing to prevent, but if it happens, at least I can get the extra draw as compensation.

Thoughts
Drawing Rampant Growth was surprisingly helpful though I do have to be worried about surprise Tech II building these days. I’m worried about the possibility of Hyperions so I’m going to put Drakk into SQL to prevent him from being killed outright.
Oh, right… I forgot to take into account that the technician bonus would trigger a reshuffle. Oh, well, this works too, as the Mimic missed the reshuffle. I guess going for Juggernauts is better than going for Immortals… they’re a little slower, but they don’t require a Tech Lab, and I can use them to get Immortals via Temporal Distortion… which is good, because a Tower is my only defensive option against his stealth. I should also start thinking about tech III units soonish. I doubt the point of armor from SQL would make a difference, especially with 2 3/4 patrollers for him to choose from, so I’ll just go for econ bonuses.

Thoughts
With him running Mimics, I can’t allow the Fencer to survive. Choosing Geiger over Bigby here, because I dont expect to have enough gold for Bigby’s expensive spells after everything else I want to do this turn… I’ll be potentially feeding his Mimic sparkshot, but Insuring his Fencer so Midori doesn’t fly over and take out the Agent before I can collect. Hmm… guess I’ll try to maybe work in a Censorship Council to limit his ability to drop Mimic combos and slow his deployment in general. Ooh, lucky draw, 2nd Argonaut. Putting Geiger in the backline so if he wants to take the kill, he’ll have to pay to maxband Midori first.
