My Thoughts
Let’s run through some options here…

Zane + Surprise Attack + Pillage + Mad Man. I don’t worker OR tech1 (that’s obv bad), but I can break tech1 again AND put base on 11 AND have a massive board. Obv downsides but I might be able to rush it down.

Original plan of Rook + Birds + tech1 + worker. I don’t get to really attack at all, and might get beat up by Reversal or Snapback, but I DO know he doesn’t have Grappling hook, so that’s a plus.

Zane + Mad Man to get the kill, give levels to Rook. I have to pick between tech1 and worker in this case though… That’s a bit rough, but I can probably live w/ no worker and then next turn worker + birds + t2
Option 1 sounds like the most fun and hype thing, but option 3 feels like the safest thing and playing to my win cons… Idk, tough call.
Let’s do a little math on #1
His base would end my turn on 11hp. I’d be laying Lvl 3 Zane + Mad Man + Dog + Ram. If I draw sharks, I could have 3+3+3+1+2+3=15. If I don’t draw sharks, I could have 1shove + 4+2bombaster exp+1+2+3=3patrol and 10atk, so I’d have to draw Charge or Pillage for lethal. Alternatively I could Mid Zane with my float, and that’d put the base on 10hp. All of this makes for a tricky situation, though, if he snaps Zane out. I would need to tech Dinosize and Sharks probably.

Yea, i was doomed. i think you were right about being P1 having quite an advantage. I thought I could leverage the gold advantage from mono AND p2, but i didnt win the gamble on rambaster and threw off my rythm completely.

This does feel like one map where P2 can overcome, since the extra worker is worth more and it’s harder for P1 to be aggro w/ less gold to use. I definitely gambled going for Rambaster on turn 3 along with the Surprise Attack tech (and lucky draw), but it was pretty tight!
P2 White against Red is just tough in general though. Hard to defend
