[XCAFS20] Round8: dwarddd MonoPurple vs bansa [Law]/Peace/Finesse

Changes for this match:

Blue Starter:

Porkhand Magistrate ability costs 0 (instead of 1) to use.
Lawful Search Changes to an upgrade, with “sacrifice this:” as the trigger for the ability it currently has as a spell (Look at opponent’s hand or discard, then draw 1)
Building Inspector ability is “Your opponents must pay you 1 gold to build (or rebuild) a building” (instead of only the first building costing 1 more)
Bluecoat Musketeer can now be long range while 2 attack or less (instead of exactly 1)

Law:

Jurisdiction gains “You may trash Jurisdiction and/or the searched-for spell” and “If that spell has Channeling your Law hero can Channel it until he leaves play” at the end of it’s effect.
Tax Collector is a 3/3 (instead of 2/3)
Guardian of the Gates is a 2/6 (instead of 1/6) and affects Units and Heroes (instead of just Units)
Arresting Constable Gains “Haste” and can target any unit or hero with it’s ability.

Peace:

General’s Hammer costs 2 (instead of 3)
Drill Sergeant’s gains “limit twice per turn” on it’s second ability (can only move 2 runes off of the DS each turn, same as Ancient)
Debilitator Alpha costs 4 (instead of 5) and has “As Patroller: Attackers get -1 ATK” (even if they aren’t attacking Debilitator Alpha)

Finesse:

Harmony Instead of “sacrifice Harmony” to stop the music, the card now reads “You may sacrifice Harmony at any time. Whenever Harmony leaves play, turn all dancer tokens over. They are now 2/1 Angry Dancers with Unstoppable”
Star-Crossed Starlet Her ability is now optional (“Upkeep: You may have SCS deal 1 damage to herself”)

Purple Starter:

Time Spiral costs 0, and ability adjusted: “Add or remove a time rune from a card (or forecasted card) that you control”
Tinkerer also triggers on Arrival. “Arrives: or :exhaust:: Add or remove a time rune from a card (or forecasted card) that you control” //combined with the other changes, previous version was a bit too degenerate

Past:

Prynn midband becomes Dies:… (instead of “Dies from fading”)
Seer can only affect cards you control.

Present:

Sentry ’s ability becomes “Prevent the first point of damage that would be dealt to your patrollers each turn (active player’s choice if more than one patroller is dealt damage at the same time)”
Hyperion reduced to 4/4 (instead of 4/5)
Octavian’s ability becomes: “1: Disable a unit or hero and give Octavian -1/1 until next upkeep” (loses :exhaust: and no longer readies him). Also gains “Resist 1”

Future:

Vir midband is range 4-6 (instead of 5-6)
Double Time Cost reduced to 5 and moves to forecast 2 (instead of forecast 3)
Knight of the Conclave is Forecast 2 (instead of 3), loses resist 1
Reaver’s ability becomes: “Arrives or :exhaust:: Trash a worker, or deal 6 damage to a Unit or Hero”. Cost reduced to 2

don’t want to pay him, not when there is a valid other option

if i attack oni with fargo either he midbands him and I might as well have not attacked or he doesnt and he’ll probably attack with oni (letting BI trade with the tired fargo); if I don’t attack Oni, then he won’t be midbanding him (because that would use all his gold and i’d be able to kill him if i have just a nullcraft or FF) so Oni will likely only have 3hp and an Unphase will do the job. If i don’t get to do this plan though it’s not a big deal so I’ll take my 4/7 chance of drawing a single unphase and put a tech 1 in there too to increase the general chance of me having one on turn 4

hmm he could also midband Oni and not tech 1, giving a second patroller, hrnnn, oh well to the plan then, I’ll just look like im going for origin story and hope he patrols oni as then i can likely kill him; after all this he probably won’t midband oni and unphase would’ve been the right card xd or he could have lawful search and all my schemes would be seen through

weird choice to hit my base, maybe there’s a harmony incoming? however the chance isn’t high enough for assimilate to be teched i dont think, as even if they do tricycloid counters it decently by pinging dancers

if I put argonaut in resist they are less likely to sideline it and more likely to kill it, but actually the sidelining isn’t bad as I get to attack with it next turn then so they might kill it anyway, so put it in technician

actually arrest is a thing, so they might be aiming to sideline both…

oh no 7dmg, that’s more than i thought…

immortal, kill Bigby with Argo, assume he tech draws arrest, arrest immortal, leaves max+argo defence = 5, 3dmg to base i lose. so either not immortal or I patrol argo in SQL and forfeit Max, which would neuter next turn even if they don’t draw arrest (i want to 1. survive Arrest, 2. do well off no arrest)

hyperion kills bigby, refresh hype (either TD if i draw it or maxband Max), patroll argo in front with full hp, i survive an arrest and do well of no arrest because hype and Max will be alive

i can’t afford to be aggressive and kill more stuff because i need every bit of defence (unless ofc im going to lose for sure this way… and rolling the dice on an arrest would lead to a chance of winning, but im still hopeful on winning this way) actually next turn he has about a 3/4 chance of drawing a jurisdiction or general’s hammer (at the end of the turn) from his deck, so I have to win in my next turn… which with my current defensive plan is not gonna happen; looks like im betting it all on a 2/3 chance of no arrest

I win the coin flip! Oni -> LS -> Arrest SQL -> then I should have just enough dmg to deal 3 remaining to base, GG! I thought my chances were slim expecting another Tricycloid or something wiping my board.

What if Max was in SQL instead? Then it would have prevented fatal and you didn’t have take a chance on me not drawing arrest.

then I can’t win next turn, giving you approx 75% chance of drawing one of jurisdiction or general’s hammer, 50% chance of winning on T7 > 25% chance of surviving to T8

I see… didn’t think that far but I guess you were relying on Max’s skills to one shot my base. You are correct if you didn’t finish me next turn it would give me pretty high chance of drawing one of the jurisdictions or hammer. It would be something like 80% plus chance with the help of Scribe or LS.

With one turn with the set up I had (i.e. if you didn’t draw arrest) I had immortal, tricycloid pings, max+sparkshot and argo to clear your patrol, flicker tric for 2 base dmg (river levels) then double omegacron (would need so sac battlesuits and max and all my workers and the first omegacron) into base for 18

Which would’ve been really fun xd but alas i risked too much
