Ouch. I can wipe out most of the board here, at least. I’m tempted to tech in Death and Decay. Can Orpal be killed this turn? I’ve no idea whose spells to expect at this point. Ferocity’s nasty, but I don’t think it quite gets him there without Argagarg’s buffs. What about Orpal? He needs five extra damage, I think bolyarich can only manage four. Unless he has Sickness and Spreading Plague in hand, but I really doubt that. I’d still have to keep Orpal alive for two turns when my next hand is mostly spells, I’m not taking the risk. Just a Gorgon and a Cursed Crow, then I can punish his hand if he stays at Tech 0, and I have even more deathtouch for those heroes. I won’t need a second Lab if I can keep the board small from now on, and he currently has no anti-air outside of Water Elemental.

Thoughts

Drawing the other Tiny Basilisk makes me cautiously optimistic about my chances here, setting up a tower behind it neuters Calamandra. With that in mind, I’m now happy to put in Death and Decay. Let’s see what Carrion Curse reveals.

Thoughts

Hitting Murkwood Allies is pretty good here, especially in the same hand as Galina Glimmer. Spreading Plague isn’t so great for bolyarich in this board position except to go for a hero kill, so I’m guessing he’s teched in a copy of Sickness too. That Spore Shamber makes the Water Elemental potentially dangerous, but spreading a - rune to it makes it juuust weakened enough that it can’t kill Orpal if it’s passed both + runes.

Putting the Basilisk in Technician means Calamandra can trade with it without assistance, but I can keep my hand size up. That gives me a higher chance of drawing Death and Decay, and since bolyarich hasn’t hit ten workers yet he’s in a bad spot with respect to the card economy.

Hey judges (@FrozenStorm?) / @Legion. Does bolyarich’s Orpal have 0 or 1 attack if I cast another Death and Decay here? I’m guessing 1, since the Elite bonus applies after D&D’s stat modification.

I’m very OK with 0, but I think it really is 1, and it will make a difference.

On second thought, it might not matter, depending on your next turn. I’ll assume Orpal has 1 attack for now, if he has 0 attack then Tiny Basilisk doesn’t get a - rune. Going with 0 attack, as per Bomber’s post below.
