Turns out I was the one who got punished for not respecting the drawing power.

T5 Vir swap into Tri got me real good. This killed me.
T6 Sniping Oni was a good move. This got me good again.
T7 Geiger draw into TD finished me off.

You patrolled really well and I felt very lucky to hit the 1/6 on turn 5 for that Tric, I thought for sure I’d have to Unphase Hyperion to kill Macciatus and that would not have gone nearly as well without the Tric to block.

I am curious though about how Quince’s midband functions w/ Unphase: If you can’t see Hyperion til my next upkeep, are you not allowed to copy it? That could be a great way for me to get a wrinkle opening for Hyperion. I wonder if that’s been asked in the rules question thread, I’ll take a look and ask it if it hasn’t

Quince midband doesn’t target so I’m guessing it can?

Yeah I can’t think of a good written rule reason for why it wouldn’t be copyable but theme wise it does feel really bad and wrong, yeah? The idea of “invisible” is you can’t tell it’s there, copying it would go against the spirit of that in a real “feels bad man” way

Got an interesting new question here fam: Quince’s midband does not seem to target. However, it does seem to imply the unit to be copied must be “in play” (you can’t just decide it’s a copy of any tech 2 you can think of). So what about “visible” to Quince? If I cast Unphase on, say, a Hyperion, it is invisible until my next upkeep. During an opposing Quince’s turn, can he copy my invisible Hyperion (assuming Quince doesn’t have a tower or Eyes of the Chancellor to detect said Hyperion)? I ca…

We’re discussing how, as written, nothing really prevents you from just naming any tech2 unit you like and making a mirror a “copy” of it. Like can you copy a Void Star even if I haven’t played one? Can you copy Terras Q, The Shackled in our game even when I’m not playing Demonology? Why not? It’s a tech 2 unit
