Well after LS, it’s clear that will not work. My Free Speech and Injunction were off timing… So no tech 3 yet… Hope to survive another turn!
The last two cards in my deck are Lobber and the other Crashbarrow, so w/e the Surplus gives me, I can make it to lethal. GG WP!
I was quite lucky with the Desperation on T5, but it’s still nice to know that a Drakk-fueled tech 1 zerg rush can work in this matchup

Bah! GG WP. I needed Free Speech sooner it seems. That, choosing to leave Oni vulnerable right when you got that Desperation (he was probably safe to no desperation) and my bone-headed patrol on turn 6, not protecting Jail, was the killing blow.
This has been a fun matchup thus far!

Yeah, I don’t want to give you ideas or anything (not that you need any…), but I feel that Free Speech is quite crippling on Red, more so than against other mono colors. The Red heroes are all pretty lousy brawlers, so without their abilities they’re almost dead weight, especially late in the game.

Musketeer+Dog worked well the last time I tried it, IIRC, but I feel like I’ve been going down on cards too early and too often in this series. So Jaina can take Musketeer’s place.
If Oni+Aven come in, I think I’ll just trade into him and play Bloodburn. Oni+anything else, I’ll probably answer with Brogre or Bombaster.
It’s just really tough to use Free Speech early, 4 gold on Quince and that leaves a pretty big opening for you to tech up without any threat from me.

Interesting that Frozen went with Musketeer over Oni, is he scared of giving up lvls, or does he just want to keep his options open?
I think trading Mad Man and Dog is worth it, to avoid the building cost, but do I use the remaining 2 gold to play Brogre or build HH? I like the idea of keeping my handsize up in the early game, so I’ll go with HH.
Since I’ll probably want to invest gold in my heroes, I’ll tech a cheap Lobber, and Bloodlust as my answer to a likely Aven. I almost went with Fire Dart instead, but it’s only actually better against Brave Knight, I guess? And It’s even blocked by Newsman on the same number, so forget it.

Bloodlust is in hand right on time. I’m putting enough pressure to probably win the race to tech 2 next turn, and keep some pressure by playing Lobber (or if I don’t draw him, Zane).
Blood is always a solid tech, and I think I might get good value out of Ogre Recruiter.
The lvls go to Drakk, to set up his midband with Lobber next turn. I could set up healing Jaina instead, but in the long run I’d rather have Drakk’s maxband in 2$ range.

Didn’t expect the Brave Knight, though I’m now even happier I teched Recruiter. Unfortunately, if I tech up right now I’ll certainly lose both Jaina and Drakk, and I’m not prepared for that.
I can spend 5$ and a card to clear out the 5$ and a card Frozen put on board, and get a maxband Drakk out of the mix, which sounds reasonable. I’ll tech things I could play next turn, and keep my deck balanced between tech 1, tech 2, and spells. Hopefully, I won’t draw both my tech 2’s prematurely.

Hmm, nice play by Frozen, giving Zane lvls to keep me from using his maxband. And the Free Speech is well-timed, as always.
I’m also reluctant to play Recruiter right now, with Quince around to copy him. Although, come to think of it, all I need to do is kill the Mirror to prevent that, since MTruth can’t copy tech 2’s.
I’ll even tech another Recruiter, as it seems like a sensible answer to Peace tech 2, along with a Bugblatter. Or is a PGC better? Nah, I expect to kill Frozen’s stuff at least as often as he kills mine

I see more value in breaking the Garrison and the tech 2 than in killing Quince or the Newsman. In fact, leaving Quince around means Frozen can’t bring in maxband Oni, so that’s a net positive. He’ll replay the BK, and maybe add a Scribe and another Free Speech, but I think I have enough board presence to break through and re-break the tech 2.
