Near same opening for last game, let him have an Oni midband kill if he really wants it and if not, he’s got to risk Rook counter-killing him. It’s a pretty compromised position for him to be in IMO

Continuing nearly the same. I don’t think the kill on Rook is good for him. And actually, Viper works super well against the Soldiers he wants, so this should work great eh? Either he’ll maxband and kill Grave, or I’ll suicide him with no penalty. Then bring Birds + Rook, Sparring Partner, and continue forward.
…
Well that was a kinda shit RS draw… Might end up just teching up, or maybe snap out maxband Oni?
Of course I’m not sure. I’m trying things until something clicks.

Hmm, blocking 1 is a cool idea… Would have loved to keep Viper alive here, but I think it’s better to get 2 for 1 than end up having him kill viper with just 1 soldier.
Birds trump snapback I think, can get free levels potentially. I’d rather operate on fewer cards than give him extra, might be the difference in whether AoW comes out or not, so Grappling hook that soljya to sql.
Teching Barb cuz I think that works well and low chance to draw it, and another SP cuz they rock with Birds and Heroes

Just a note but Newsman would die for this, as he would lose his 1hp he has while being a bird. However, you could have copied Aven instead, and that would have resulted in Newsman living, so no need to make a change.
On my phone so will post full turn tomorrow, but the jist of it will be Monk takes cadet, sets comes out + lvl 2, Sensei trades with Oni so sets midbands, sparring partner, tech 2 strength, worker, patrol bird in elite

Ugh not having Hook here is a bummer! But no matter, I can still get the levels off Oni and maintain a pretty solid board advantage as well as tech advantage. Arrest is all that will get SP killed, that would suck but hopefully he doesn’t spend the card on it and instead does something like Quince + Tech up. Free speech would suck also, but as long as I can stick the barb && buff him, that’s a solid plus

Now hook but no patrolling Bird…Dang arrest. At least his hand size is low, though no doubt that stash was a Garrison…
Well, best to get Sets maxed out, find some additional means of dealing with Aven (YLD? seems a good choice), and threaten FDS as well. Worse case Barb can hopefully double off some stuff?
Yeah, that Arrest was lucky timing. But I can only arrest so many Barbarians.
Last night I was able to play a face-to-face game, and tried Law for the first time, against Demonology. In the last turn I was able to Injunction his Terras Q, Arrest his Zarramonde, and Free Speech his Garth and Vandy. I even got a Skeleton on my side by Manufactured Truthing myself a Bone Collector earlier in the match. Law is fun.

My Thoughts
No hook or Entangling Vines that would let me reach that Newsman… Had I gotten the vines, I could have taken out the tech 2 and with it, most of his hope in the game. FDS would have had similar success. Alas it is not meant to be, and so we’ll have to settle for walling up and hoping he doesn’t generate too many runes…
Teching in Oathkeeper so it’s floating around, I may not have a ton to spend gold on next turn so teching up would make sense.
OK, I feel confident that I screwed SOMETHING up in this turn. Peace turns get complicated.
Ignore this, look below.
Well, you weren’t wrong about missing something indeed peace engine gets complicated in a hurry!
Two things here:
- Manufactured Truth only works on tech 0 and tech 1. Can’t turn anything into a Drill Sergeant that way
- it does cost 1 to cast that spell
LMK what you decide to change based on that!
Yeah, that was too good to be true. I’ll run that turn through again.
OK, pretty similar but fewer +1 runes and you keep a bird.

My Thoughts
Going to tech in another TG and FDS, since it doesn’t look like I’ll be teching up this turn. I want to clear as much of his board as possible, get air superiority going. Think this does the trick well. Despite the potential for giving Quince levels, I think I’d better have Grave blocking: Sets has to survive, and however unlikely I don’t want that DS getting through patrol off of like Injunction + Arrest or something.
…
Well so far, not a great RS draw… We’ll see what Setsy digs up (provided no Free Speech, that’d suck…)
Since BK doesn’t actually die, I don’t think he triggers the technician draw.
