I really wanted to play Porkhand to try for a bit of early lockdown, but he’s so expensive that if I built Tech I next turn I wouldn’t really be able to do anything else. If I’d had Building Inspector in my next hand, I might well have gone for it, but instead I went with the much more reliable hero+BI. I had a tough time deciding between heroes. I like Jaina’s attack progression, but getting her to 3ATK is only $1 cheaper than Bigby, and he has more HP, and he can cast the spells in my next hand at cost. Rook is a nice wall, but I likely won’t get him to midband anytime soon, and the spells are expensive.
I’m thinking early techs will be Injunction+Boulder, or maybe Firebat to have something that can trade with BCs.
I’m almost certainly going Strength here, because DeGrey is good against Skeletons, Wisps, Elementals, and Ninjas.

I really wanted to just drop Newsman@$1+Tech I, but I was afraid of GHook+Arg Midband letting Monk kill Bigby. So this plan, which left $1, hence LSearch with the experimental futzing of draws. Turns out he would have been safe, and that plan would have prevented Safe Attacking, but c’est la vie. And I got lucky on draw, with both techs in my next hand. So I can’t complain.
He could Snapback Bigby, but at midband I don’t think it’s worth it. Hmmm. Might be for the hero kill to boost Sets or Garth. Ah well.
Lots of options for next turn: Injunction/Boulder/max Bigby/Newsman if Bigby’s still there. Boulder+Newsman+TD if not.

Maybe Newsman on $1 would have been better (or $2, given Sets), but I wanted some D in front of Bigby, and I wanted to lock down his Tech I just in case BC or IPN was coming out, and to delay Tech II. Of course, he’ll probably go heavy hero strat and I’ll die. (:
Was going to tech Injunction+DeGrey and try to maintain the lockdown, but then I realized that if DeGrey and Boulder are both in deck, Mythmaking should be, too.
After the draw… Pretty poor. Max Bigby and draw just to restock hand, and hope not to draw anything crucial; if I do it first, I have the option of skipping Tech II for Mythmaking or Injunction draws. Or just Aven+Tech II instead; I’m actually liking the odds of Aven surviving, with no Elemental or skeles. Or BI+Tech II and save some money. I almost wish I’d put the Boulder in Scav, so I’d have a chance of building Jail. But then I’d have nothing to protect it with except Bigby. Have I overextended?

Well, that sucked a bit, but I should have expected it. Newsman on $1 would have prevented it, but Newsman still would have died.
I thought about Colossus as a tech, but HE off max Garth seems like an easy answer. Doubling Barbarbarian is much cheaper. But with Mythmaking in the deck, and the likelihood of DeGrey dying, and the likelihood of hasty stealthy ninjas any moment, extra DeGrey seemed good. Earthquake to pair with the Aven he doesn’t currently have an answer to.
After the draw… Those 3 spells would be great if Bigby were going to survive. Maybe I should have gone with BI instead, but it wouldn’t have saved Bigby if Bob really wanted to kill him. Still, DeGrey to answer ninjas is good. I’d really like mythmaking. Maybe he’ll find a way to kill Aven?
Probably DeGrey+Rook+Jaina next turn. Except that now that I think on it, he’s going to kill Bigby with Sets and Smoker, and break Tech II with ninjas and monk. And even if I had played BI, Smoker+ninjas could break Tech II. Just heroes? I should have put something in scav. so I can afford max Rook. Blech. Ninja death.

I think my biggest error was teching Boulder instead of Firebat, which might have let me threaten your board a bit or force some trades… But ultimately I didn’t bring enough to combat Sets herself. An early Flame Arrow tech really would have helped there.
