Thoughts
he knew exactly what i was going for… he ruled out all lines involving river when river is protected… very bold move by zhavier…
That first desperation had a 80% chance of drawing either the other desperation or the war drums, so it wasnt going to look good for me either way. Missing the desperation and getting the drums probably still would have meant my defeat, I think, but it does depend on what else was drawn. I am not sure what sequence would not have led to my defeat beyond wiffing on both desperation and war drums. This is why blood gambles. Its the most gambly spec. Need to get a lum spec and pair it with blood and just go all in.
Right, the sequence of draw wasn’t ideal but was one of the better outcomes. I was pretty comfortable with any combination of draw given the context of my deck with that first desperation in hand. Bad draw would have kept me from lethal but I think it still would have rendered a good position for me. It was the first desperation I got lucky with since it was close to 50-50 but wasn’t quite 50%. If I didn’t draw the first desperation, it would have been a very tough battle for me going forward.
I’m surprised by the Mythmaking and Boulder though. I certainly did not expect them since I didn’t see them in your previous games. Perhaps Bomber’s comment had an impact? My thought I was holding on the other tread was that I think “predictable” is actually the fundamental of your strength. I believe you have the most systematic approach and gameplan in the forum which starts even before going into the tourney during the deck selecting process. That may be why Bomber read into your tech choices and I’ve had a similar thought that your game progression is almost pre-determined. But that is truly what I fear the most going against since it feels almost impossible to break thru that wall. I know what’s coming but I can’t do anything. When I feel powerless, I make mistakes. Thanks for the game. Master. I need lucky draws to overcome my fear and yes, Blood does the job.
