Thoughts

Jandra and deteriorate in second hand, bummer. Rook is obnoxious to deal with early on, I’ll want Doom Grasp for sure. I need to put miracle grow on the back foot somehow despite token spam, which probably means my own token spam or crash bombers. Next turn I’ll have to choose between LB and Doom Grasp, with Sentry to deal with possible birds. Do I consider gunning for Mine as well? Surprise blowout gold is a great way to kick down the door and take initiative.

Anyhow, this turn, my only actual unit that patrols is Javelineer. If I’m okay going down on cards I can Graveyard Javelineer, but that’s 50/50 to lose to Rambaster. Hero into Javelineer (like Geiger) holds up better. What about hero, graveyard, haunt? Hard to get 4 attack (Rambaster, Scorch, midband Rook) and it requires a fair amount of resources.

Thoughts

Replay imp, haunt and deteriorate ogre, play Sentry seems good. Teching Now! and Doom Grasp to give me options next turn, potentially. I could have flickered to double discard, but I’m not willing to skip worker yet. This is set up really nicely to drop Mine next turn, I’m keeping heavy board control. Also, I think I’ll Deteriorate, Haunt and Geiger kill GPT. This lets me really choke off CN’s card draw going into a reshuffle. It’ll make their next tech choice very awkward. If I do that, I need to consider midbanding Geiger to avoid a free midband Rook kill. In that world I don’t play Sentry and I do patrol with Imp in a slot. Rook still gets a Graveyard kill but I’ve gotten a ton of mileage out of that. Next turn, I can throw 3 gold at Mine plus Javelineer and still tech up, so I don’t actually need Scav gold. Imp goes in Technician, then.

In two turns, I can slingshot into maxband Garth and probably get a Rook kill. That’s just 7 gold (Garth, Nether Drain, 4 levels), and Mine lets me throw more things out if it doesn’t get bopped. If Geiger stays up that’s a free flicker and a huge potential swing with my tech 2s. That’s the turn I’m banking on.
