This has to be the greediest opening ever, but I know I’m going to want to tech quickly and my guess is that his strategy is a control one with ““everyone is an illusion but me”” and spreading fire damage spells, with some frog tokens thrown in for fun.
I won’t be putting on board pressure yet but I hope to with Rook and such next turn.

I probably should have tried to get a more aggressive early game going here. I wanted to go t2 but I’m only at 7 workers. I’ve test-played by myself trying to do some sort of truth/fire shinanegans in the past and it felt awkward when I tried to do it, so hopefully I come online first. I figure blooming ancient will be better first with bird’s nest… next tech will be plague lab and the like.

I have totally shit the bed with my teching this game. also, obvious blunder thinking birds could chump block ground, I would have just put Rook in squad leader had I realized he was going to get attacked through 3 chumps.
Worst case scenario I see how cool truth/fire can be- I hadn’t thought of using Cala for resist.

Liberty Gryphons to the rescue. Had to worker a Roc for that and I’m still down to a 2 card hand. Put mirror in squad so it doesn’t just die to bird.
