Even better for me, he didn’t draw Deteriorate so I’m the one getting the hero kill. Building Tech2 so I can play Zane next turn, along with Jaina and hasty units in my next hand will be able to break his Tech2 if he builds it.

EDIT: turn redone, forgot to tech cards first time around

Zane is a 4/1 so how did it get past the tower damage?

In a combat when Defender had a Tower, all these happen at the same time:

  • Defender deals its damage to Attacker
  • Tower deals its damage to Attacker
  • Attacker deals its damage to Defender

So Zane is hit with 5 damage at the same time as he deals 4atk to the Baron (resulting in 3dmg after breaking the armour).

Essentially the Tower increases by 1 the damage each attacker receives. But because all the damage is dealt simultaneously, the attacker doesn’t have to “get past” the Tower before damaging the defender. Hope that makes sense.
