Sure, I know I just explained how to have a better chance against white, but I’m curious to try playing Blue. I haven’t played with Blue much, but I’d like to try it out.
This is my general philosophy for Codex, but keep in mind it doesn’t really take combos into account and I’m not a fantastic Codex player: [Strategy] Codex Roles P1 vs. P2
One way of thinking about Rich Earth is that if you play it as Player 1 you’re essentially letting the other player be Player 1 while still having one more worker than you to start with.

Here goes nothing! Nullcraft stops me from wanting to make Traffic Director OR Building Inspector, but Building Inspector seems like a great card later while Traffic Director is so-so. Rather have Oni than anyone else, though I thought about trying to get crazy with Quince’s mirrors.

I’m happy trading off Oni here. Teching Hound/Scribe split here as I want to try cards out. Let’s see what I draw?! Choosing a worker was hard this round…
Ooh, drew them both! That’s pretty neat, they both seem worth playing. His board got really good really fast. So he has a 4/4 and a 3/3 against my twerpy blue guys. Hopefully no FF for him next turn…

Bibgy casts Manufactured Truth, turning a scribe into a Spectral Aven for the turn! - ($6)
Spectral Aven and Scribe Aven both attack your Argonaut. Tower kills Spectral, Scribe takes 1.You get a gold!
Hire Reputable Newsman, set to 2 - ($4)
Build Tech II (Law) - ($0)
Ooh, we are both turtling up! This turn was a head-scratcher, lots of options. I might regret not just killing Geiger here, but with Newsman set to 2, I think his options are somewhat limited. I would love to bring on Brave Knight, but I’m 1 gold short. Maybe I shouldn’t have built a tower? 1st game as Blue in forever, gonna make mistakes! Of courese the beauty of the stash is I can make sure I play a Brave Knight NEXT turn with my stash…
Hang on, I shouldn’t have 10 workers. I’m pretty sure this turn is valid in terms of what I did, but some of the spreadsheet numbers got mixed up. I think I put a card I should have discarded into my worker column. I’ll fix it!

By going Present, I think Lawbringer Gryphon is mostly a lock for the win? If I can get it in hand with 10 gold of course. My math says I’ve got a 2 out of 7 chance of drawing 1 as my 5th card, but if it’s not in my hand for next turn, the following it definitely will be. Can he react in time? Or is there a counter I haven’t thought of…
