On your turn 5, you teched Whitestar Grapplers and immediately played one, which I’m assuming you drew after Nekoatl killed your technician.
For future reference, technician draws happen before you tech new cards (technically, patrol bonuses happen during your opponent’s turn, but you only “lock in” your tech choices at the beginning of your own turn).
So what should have happened is you would’ve reshuffled and drew something else (by hitting the Draw 1 card button), and only then added the teched cards to your discard column.
@Nekoatl GG! That’s a game, well played! Also @Dreamfire correted my error in T5 which was advantageous for me so it was actually more one sided game. Just a follow up question to you guys, is it an official Codex rule to Tech at the beginning of turn? Im fairly new to the forum and I’ve only played kitchen table games, but we thought timing of Tech was anytime between my last turn and upkeep of my next turn. @Nekoatl are you down for another game? How do you guys normally play these matches, single game? Best of three? Etc
The detailed description on page 2 says to set aside the cards you choose, and not put them into your discard until the start of the turn, but the quick reference on page 21 is worded in a way that suggests you could put them in your discard earlier. This is misleading, because if you put them in your discard during your opponent’s turn, and then the opponent caused you to draw a card when your deck was empty, you’d be able to choose whether or not your teched cards got shuffled into your deck, which would violate the principle that all decisions are made by the active player (page 18). So, I’m sure the teched cards do have to go into your discard pile at the start of your turn, and not before, but this is a common point of confusion. I don’t know if I’ve seen an official ruling to confirm it, but if you want one, you can ask about it in the Rules Questions thread.
The convention is that players play one game, then decide if they want to keep playing more. Usually, that means playing 2 games with each player going first once, but sometimes players lose interest after the first game, and other times players go on to play dozens of games, even switching up their builds from time to time. But sure, I’m down for another game.

No problem; Codex has a long learning curve, so you’ll find that most people on these forums are happy to help each other with the questions that inevitably arise.
