Good game.
I hrm’d and haw’d a bunch about what to do on T2.
The correct play was probably something like bloom, kill wisp with bloom’d sets, worker+tech 1+tenderfoot; OR open with Grave who can threaten a bloom/spark/wither (possibly also midband) to kill a hero against Calamandra.
OR I guess I could’ve gone for wither+bloom and tenderfoot instead of maxband sets?
I was pretty sure I didn’t want to leave calamandra alive as I don’t have snapback to answer something like “Ditch some cards, hunt hero with Calamandra + (spell/midband) – follow up workers and Fetch Tigers” which seemed like a rather significant problem.
Ah well.
Yeah, I’m slowly learning not to skip workers as Player 1 until later in the game.
@Eijolend has also been having some trouble getting the most out of Finesse starter, so if either of y’all have a game where it really seems to come together, you should ping the other one to let them know what you did. And me so I can start using River with more confidence!

I think Calamandra + my turn 1 told me to skip a worker.
Zane was the correct punishment for skipping the worker;
A Feral + [other green hero] probably could correctly punish as well with Hero+Rampant Growth tiger cub+worker.
If Sets survived (no zane, no rampant growth) I think I could’ve made it work.
If he had to skip worker and tech 1 to kill sets I’m not sure.
Against his deck I probably should’ve expected sets to die here and tech’d something else (Harmony and fencer/IPN maybe?).

I think you just should have led with Grave. You would have been able to threaten more damage on turn 2, so leading with Calamandra would have been riskier for me. With that said, I think that skipping a worker to kill Calamandra and max Sets was also wrong, given that I had a guaranteed Setsuki kill using Zane. I think that you would have been better off trying to develop normally and taking your chances against Calamandra.
