When you built a tower I was feeling good and thought I was on track. But I made some terrible decisions and lost control of this game. Z is untargetable so I canāt get rid of him. GG!
GG! That was inspired to tech Now! T2, and the hero kill stopped me running away with the game early. But once youād skipped the worker as P1, I was fairly confident I could rush for Tech3 ā so built the Tower to allow my 3/3s to stop your Argos, teched the Voidblocker, etc.
Happy to continue if you are. Iāll stick with Black, and switch to P1. Same deck or switch for you?
Yes, I saw your thoughts - you were spot on and it was a grave mistake to skip a worker. Iām wondering if I could have stopped you by teching to tech 2 earlier.
Iām happy to continue. I was going to switch to red or green, but maybe one more round of purple?
Not so well set up for a Vandy open with neither Javelineer/Haunt in T1 hand ā and anyway Mox is a good answer to aggro. Could go for Imp, though Forgotten Fighter would leave me uncomfortably behind on econ for the card. So letās try Garth-Skeletons, try to get value by maxing T3/4 for a Baron.

Iāve had good luck with the timing of Deteriorates, given me 2 unit kills from Garth. Iām teching Plague Spitter rather than Baron for Garthās max ā repayable later in the game, protects Skeletons from Nullcraft, and a good way to degrade an Immortal.
Heās held back a boatload of cash. T3 Tech2 maybe?
Thinking of trying for a fast cycling build with Gorgons and Dark Pacts.

Going for Tech2 Disease, teching Cursed Crow and Gorgon, both good to have in deck once his KotCs come round. May also need a Tower at that point.
Sacrificing a Skeleton for draw mid-turn, can at worst replace it with Haunt for free, and cycles my Tech2 units into deck. [Drew Deteriorate, used to trade a Skeleton for his Plexus].
Had I teched differently, itās possible I could have done something but this seems like a bad plan anyway and I donāt think I can do much anymore. GG!
GG! I was quite fortunate in this one for getting Deteriorates when I needed them for unit kills ā but Black starter is like that!
But youāve also been making a few mistakes early on in these games that have given me a lead to build on. eg in this game you could have played a hero (eg Geiger) out T1 into SQL, 3HP+armour would have been quite safe from my opener and avoided losing Plexus straight away.
Yea, thatās a fair point. I was hoping to save the money for a big turn and had I teched two seers instead of the random stuff I put in there in T3, I would have had a much better board position to work with. I was quite concerned about playing a hero early on because my heroes are not very efficient and I didnāt want to feed levels easily but youāre right that against Garth, Geiger can do fine.
Yeah, I had considered that in previous games as you can see in my thoughts. For some reason I wasnāt thinking about it when I did this turn: was locked in on this Conclave plan that I wanted to make work.
Also, itās a strange but I sometimes make a turn on the forums in a very short time and sometimes I spend a long time considering if. I should just not make a move if I donāt have the time but have been managing my time badly. Itās hard because I like it better when games are relatively snappy - itās fun to play when the opponent makes a move pretty quickly.
