@FrozenStorm sure thing, here is my turn one. Since this is more casual, what makes you think it’s P2 favoured? I was thinking perhaps White tempo and Anarchy pressure could be dangerous but I still think as P1 I should be able to keep that in check until the illusions can give me the economy advantage

It’s true that White P2 is generally weak and that Blue v White, starter-wise, is fairly even.

But I feel like Zane is an S-tier hero to draw in this format, and I feel like intelligent play around Zane early should be able to blow up Truth and never let it get going. I think Anarchy T3 is the win con to play for here and Anarchy T2 is less prone to “stealing” like Glorious Ninja is. But we shall see! GL HF, editing my turn in shortly…

My Thoughts

Hero should be safe to anything except Aven + MTruth, which would be unfortunate but not catastrophic. I think I can get to Anarchy T2 and slug it out for T3 leaning mostly on Zane.

Fortunate I got Smoker + AS here, that’s perfect for what I want to do


P2 looks to require more trickery. My thoughts were that making use of Hidden Ninja, supported later by Monkeys, or Void Stars + Xenostalkers, might let P2 knock down the base before Truth II gets going, but with a Blue vs. White start I don’t know whether that could get going quickly enough.

With Hook, Zane Shove, Shuriken Hail and Unphase, I think I have enough targeting to keep Truth T2 from easily stabilizing, but maybe that’s too much Black v Blue experience biasing my measure of how weak / strong Truth is away from black :wink:

I also have GPT for Aven which will be a big help. White’s only early anti-air is Primus and she’s not super cost effective, especially as a P2 blocker. The 3hp for 2g on GPT makes a big difference

Yeah, the trick will be to apply enough early pressure that P1 needs to put their illusions in patrol, instead of safely on the backline.

hate to be predictable but this time round I’m going for the same tech, argonaut because I’m scared and it’s great in defence and hound because I’m still backing the illusions as a viable route to win

Had a bit of a dilemma here over whether to patrol the mirror or not, by patrolling the mirror i do give them more choices, but any route to kill it either means expensive tech 1 or no tech 1

My Thoughts

Hoping I spook dwarddd into building a tower here (like I’m teching Hidden Ninja) but I’m actually going to worker the Hook (newsman’s gonna make it hard to use early) and tech shuriken hail for the possible flagbearer/hounds. It’ll be expensive to kill Sets almost certainly (arrest + hound + Mtruth + attack tax?) so I think she’s fine tag teaming newsman w/ AS and everybody chills backline. Arrest would suck, maybe I should go Lookout instead of SQL? …yeaaah, I guess so. Wish I had Safe Attacking to just kill the BI, but maybe it’s for the best I don’t give a card away

right so i can see up to 6 dmg coming, another possibility is to ditch Sets and get a Zane but I’d be surprised as either I get the levels or Quince’s levels are wasted when Setsuki dies and even if they pop hound with Zane’s maxband i’ve already got value by killing Setsuki

this is annoying, if i kill monk with Quince and BI, then either i midband Quince and can’t afford both tech 1s or i leave quince and give away two levels and the ability to cast manufactured truth and tech up next turn

if I don’t kill him then they have 3 more dmg next turn

if i arrest him to kill both 1/1s then I’ve cast an inefficient Arrest that’ll come back to bite me in two turns

My Thoughts

Well Lawful Search sniffed out no Hidden Ninja but hasn’t seen my shuriken yet… So that’s cool. I’m still staying parity or ahead on board and thus am free to tech up fairly safely. Without much haste (yet) for dwardd I feel okay going Sharks instead of Steam Tank (which is pretty vulnerable to Arrest anyway) and fighting right away on T2, rather than trying a fast T3 stall. Sharks and A Monkey counter mirrors and other things nicely so we do that. Immortals would be troublesome but I think we can avoid them fairly well (or just get to tech 3 before they can mess me up)

Grabbing Chaos Mirror for that Tiger (juicy for stealin’ its atk) and another Monkey (I forget it has haste permanently but that’s okay).

I’m going to leave Aged Sensei in patrol, but now I can option select my last techs next turn to either FDS or Gunship, and I have total command + that Tiger and Reteller off cycle. This is certainly winning position right?

Eh, other gunship. No FDS, no Mirror, no Sharks. Bummer.

Well let’s see what I can get with Zane killing the Newsman (who’s being a pill with the 1-cost blocking, good guess dwarddd).

Steam Tank? Well I could press for tech2 again but I’m drawing into the Chaos Mirror and sharks, so I think I can handle whatever tech 2 stuff. But I’ll break the tower again to make things easy on my ninjas, that’s just good value, and keeping Quince away to avoid any potential Free Speech is always a plus. So we’ll do that.

Lucky I got the double one drop T1 and you didn’t go Aven, and I’m embarrassed I thought Shuriken hail targeted, I definitely would have gone with Hidden Ninja in hindsight had I figured that out!

Yeah the pressure was really on quick! I didn’t have aven in my starting hand and i didnt think it was worth it when GPT was surely coming soon

I went for the reteller because i thought you’d be wiping my board frequently and it might punish that but idk if it was the right choice with your stealthy stuff

I think you recognized the need for a tower a little too late. Especially if I’d have had that Hidden Ninja earlier, it would have been even worse around the second re-shuffle. I agree Aven wasn’t worth it at the point you drew it.
