I can open with hero + Javelineer or Poisonblade Rogue + Javelineer. The former’s the more standard opening. The latter discourages blocking with a hero, especially Rook, but is vulnerable to Deteriorate. Opening with my own Rook isn’t as good against those opposing heroes early on, and Garth is too slow. So maybe I start with River this turn or the next. No good 2-cost unit to play next turn, but if I don’t want the Graveyard I could midband River for a sideline instead, maybe? At the moment the plan is Two Step + Nimble Fencer, but if things go badly I go for Lich’s Bargain.

Hmm, maybe River was a mistake. Still, midband River in Squad Leader is reasonable on defence here, and Pestering Haunt behind might be a decent deterrent. I’ll still go for Two Step + Fencer, then if River dies I can bring out Garth to stall a bit with Skeletons.

Fine to trade off Garth for Barrow, tempting to go double but actually with Midband Drakk I can get pretty similar damage down. Breaking the tech1 to prevent hasty buggers, Grabbing Recruiter and Bugblatter, should be able to max Drakk and utilize one of those next turn

Scariest thing here is probably Lobber or Lich’s Bargain. I feel like trying a Legendary build this game: it won’t be as strong as the one for [Demonology]/Growth/Strength, but Garth’s maxband will help me fill the board more quickly, and I can use Two Step instead of Soul Stone later one. Lack of healing will be a problem, though.
