removing these comments i made during the turn as it may be misleading. if setsuki survives, and no tower i should have lethal next turn… that is if there is no surprise with his tech choices…

Thoughts
checking his deck content… t2 kotcs x2 t3 seer x2 t4 rememberer + os t5 ray x2? t6 nothing t7 archon 3 t8 likely rewind… out of these he has rememberer, os, archon, ray(?) and rewind or (?) in hand or deck… rest 2 is tech 0… fargo and temporal research…
damn it… mpm is not what i needed… i don’t like any of these lines… hidden ninja goes to total waste…
Good thing I teched another one of these. First one was a failed attempt but the 2nd Hidden Ninja takes the kill. Mid Setsuki - Glorious Ninja - Hidden Ninja the last standing Ninja and Ninjitsu hero for the glorious assassination. GG!
yeah, did want to kill sets, but that midband armour was too much. I dont think I’ve ever regreted workering a card so much as I did nullcraft that game, so many turns where it would have been amazing.
Very well play and well teched. got your answers online to my questions just at the right time.
You know mid game I realized you must have workered Nullcraft. I forget when but it logically made sense given the number of workers and your board. I agree that Nullcraft could have wrecked me good multiple times if it remained in your deck.
This game I thought my draws were lined up pretty well at the right timing. Otherwise, it would’ve been just another nightmare of marching wall of KotCs.
Yeah, the several turns when I had my entire deck in hand or on the board, and did not play nullcraft dispite the prevelance of 1 health units/heros (or after trades) did make it pretty obvious. just it was up against seers, TR and battlesuits T3, and all of them are super critical cards for my game plan. Might be an argument for BS over nullcraft, but its very close.
EDIT: wait scrolled up to wrong game, was T2 this game, defo working neo over it was the better choice I think, but TR, Plasmo, BS all hard to worker.
Glorious Ninja appears to be a necessity against Purple, and I don’t see any other win con that will break thru or sneak past the wall of KotCs and seers. It’s possible to overcome with the right techs and timing but would still be very hard to beat if White misses a couple of critical draws.
GN is very good against Present and Past, less sure against future as xenostalkter has the HP to survive, and void stars raining death from the sky (so sad that hive gets hard countered by tower, would be such a fun card otherwise).
KotC is also really depend on when you draw your TR really. missing it T3 sets everything back a turn, and is kinda a trick you only get to play once, as demostrasted, when your draws dont line up perfectly, the game doesn’t last long enough for the second knights (and this was a super long game). only having 2 good ways to manipulate time runes (and only 3 good forecast targets) does limit your options alot. Would love to have a more reliable way then sacing + redrawing seers to remove counters.
I think KotC into future might be the better game plan (or a more standard stewardess/argo into future). Mind parry effectlive counters Ebbflow, and I missed the one turn to get down slow time generator before your board started to get out of hand.
I see. Future is another problem to solve. I don’t know off the top but not GN for sure. I think I’m learning to understand White a little bit. It really is a difficult color to pilot. Has it’s strength and weakness that really stand out. I just can’t make up my mind on the sword rune target. You are so good at dodging it. I did get Remember this game though and it was big I think.
What do you say where we go from here? another one, switch P1, change decks, take a break, your call.
switching p1 should be interesting, it really changes this matchup quite a bit (as we both go to our less prefered turn order). I dont think purple often presents great sword targets, but the rememberer was 100% correct there. Not doing that just loses you the game there (free ebblow archons are hard to beat, esp when they dont up upturned by rewind, and allow me to just dump gold into seers to get everything online).
White for me was mostly about making aggresive trades favourable, either via hero leveling and healing, sheer card draw from sets, temp armour buffs or just not taking damage back (grappler/GN). And a lot of those standard route don’t work against purple (mox eating resources early, nullcraft picking off key units, Ostory for max sets/rook, assimilate for training grounds etc) which makes it difficult, but they do have their own answers that poke at purple (birds, sparing partner etc), it just requires really rethinking what tools you have available (which is one of the real joys of this game
Will post T1 shortly unless there is anything you really want to discuss before the next game?
Go ahead and start us off. Gotta say I’m really enjoying this series with you. Thanks for the games. I feel like I’m in Training Grounds except sometimes I want to quit and run after Sensei’s Advice (a.k.a. fear of the marching wall) .
