If I kill Plexus with Oni and he has NC, Oni dies, he has three gold left to play a Fargo, or play nothing and tech up with a SQL L3 Oni. In that situation, drawing MT gets me a hero kill. I don’t draw MT, then I have almost certainly drawn one of my techd cards. So then I can just drop Hounds and feel good? Other line: don’t swing Oni. If hebhas NC, he uses it to kill BI. He then techs or plays Fargo. If the former, his patrol is NP and Oni, killable with my board. if the latter, then I could kill Fargo with my MT play, or with levelled Oni, and play a Hound, and do something else. I have talked myself out of the swing and into double Hound.

His lack of T1 makes me worried he has teched spells, such as boot camp, which could be a disaster for me here. Almost enough to Arrest the mox and kill Oni. I’d rather be hit with FF. but if I arrest and kill, then NC nets him free levels on the next hero. But at least no spells are there. How about this - Arrest Mox (3), kill Oni, play bird and dog (0). His remaining ground force is just Plexus, which can’t kill the dog, or plexus Zane, which is a bad trade. He can FF the dog and run through for the kill. this would have to be Prynn levels to avoid multicolour costs. so if 3 on that and 2 on t1, nothing else happens. What about Zane? max Zane would require worker skip, so that’s fine. OK, so this line, I start with bird, dog, L1 Oni; his out of hand is just FF unless he teched a non Oni spell, and Zane; oh, and battle suits. Hm. If he plays FF on my bird then NC kills Oni, he has 3 gold left, tech up or Fargo, I am left with just a Hound. If Lookout bird then FF Sql dog and plexus trades Oni. Not so bad. In this situation, BC doesn’t matter. Next turn would probably be something with Quince and MT. Alternatively: leave his Oni, and double dog bird. Worst out of hand is double boot camp, maybe with BC or FF. Two Boot Camps kill my dogs, and then something like plexus mox kill my Oni. Or one boot camp, and then his Oni kills my Oni after his units trade. if NO boot camp, then still could be bad. I think I need to attack. Aaaaand in the act of doing it - I could also go single dog, Oni level. He can then Prynn, FF fog, battlesuits and be well ahead after Plexus trades. Man I wish I had went for a Cadet now.

My Thoughts

Whelp, I suppose I could skip a worker to shove hound and trade plexus with Oni… but am I that afraid of Oni max? Not really, I can bring in Origin Story if needed, I can thanos snap soldiers with Stewardess… I think I mostly just want solid tradebacks… So tower makes Nullc and Plexus trade back, and saves from Oni taking free shots on buildings. Teching another Boot Camp since there’s clearly a truth investment and it’ll help me cycle + gives me Juggermox option, and ofc OC for the long and short term. We’ll see if we go to tech 2 next turn or the one after

Okay, this is stabilized, I’m on tech 2 with more board and cards, just have to skip worker for it? Fair enough. James going Truth plays into my Boot Camps nicely I think, should be able to pop stuff for cheap and / or reach a Macciatus, and I can always beef up the Mox if I just need to cycle.

My Thoughts

James keeps hanging around here but I keep clearing (or nearly in this case) and breaking that tech 2. I’m only picking up steam. It’s just a matter of time, but I’ll take an Art of War to help move things along. The draw here was pretty perfect though, worked out nicely XD
