So, several game plans here:
Forecast into Past → will beat peace engine into the ground, runs risk of being snowballed out by sparring Partner/Present 2 over running it (although stealing their battlesuits neters Present, and no sensei/aged senei nerfs sparring partner)
Stewardess into Present → Purple tech 0 is super weak to Stewardess (and I don’t have to deal with this! ) and my present should be better than theirs. Stall into peace might be a problem however.
Given my thoughts from the last peace round, I’m going to go Present (also makes this starting hand a lot less award, as theres nothing I want to worker here if going time span) as that should be slightly less expected.

Shadow has loads of ways to mess with my stuff: taking runes from my Fargo, bouncing my Mox, stealing my BSuits or Garrisons… But most likely they’re aiming for an early tech 2, so let’s tech something to make em sweat.

Okay, I am very confused by the Fargo in lookout (I mean, I have no haste at tech 0/1 apart from Now! and nullcraft, and I dont have now! on turn 2… Unless they want it to bait an attack from nullcraft so they can worry less about double void star/omegacron attacks?
Also wondering why they played mox, if they are planning on jugger moxing, have they forgotten that I have stewardess? Or just really hoping Im going for a tech 1 forecast spam and would refuse to pivot at this point?
Very confused at the moment, but I suspect there is something I’m forgetting and will be enlightened in the future (much to my downfall)
A lot of gold spent by Deamfire to do basically nothing? (fargo had no value, mox was bounced, they’re not going for Peace with a rambasa tech, and they have very little pressure atm)
Just going to keep on moving towards tech 2, shouldn’t be too hard to get multiple tech breaks with the nullcraft setup here

Lets get the Present ball rolling, mostly clear board, Discipline isn’t the best of the rebound, so no big suprises there (Now!'d lightning dragon would be the worst, but that either breaks tech 2 or kills hyp and then I just roll them over)
Not being greedy with the Battlesuits over Argonaut, should basically gaurntee the hyperion living (which is basically death if it does, TD + Max geiger is going to kill basically everything)
Shame about the Tric draw, would have been nice to gaurntee it next hand, will just have to settle for almost gaurnteed

GG WP! That was a textbook Shadow_Night_Black Present onslaught (c)
I played right into your gameplan, and I knew I was doing it, but I’m not sure what I should’ve done differently (other than skipping the Mox and drawing a YLD the one turn I could play it).
Yeah, I do not envy your position in the matchup here. Knew the purple mirror completely changed how you normally played the started, but with only one side having past/assimilate? thats just brutal.
honestly? I’m not sure what you could have gone for. I think Discipline tech 2 is too slow as P1, you might have had a chance as P2, but you can’t get threat out quickly as P1 with that starter, and you really can’t punish such a passive opening from me easily.
I think I’m most worried about either the present mirror at tech 2 (I should have the advantage, but a better draw on yourside could overcome that) or just hail marying the Peace engine. I can’t gaurntee a stratergy that demolishes both, so if you get the one I’m not prepared for, then you stand a better chance.
Obviously, there was a lot of gold that you spent early for little profit, I think you either wanted to get aggresive with heros early, or just sit back, wait and float the gold.
In all honesty, even if you draw the YLD and Now! on the turn you could play it, I don’t think it makes a difference at that point, you can take out tech 2 or my hyperion, and I still just run you over with the other one, Tric can easily kill the YLD if needed, or just use Prynn to banish it.
Not sure if the rule changes where the reason you didn’t go for Peace this game, but can’t really make a comment on them given I’m pretty sure you where never going to play battlesuits for fear of giving me two (which is an awesome drug I will say)
All good points. tbh I was disappointed with this codex, I was hoping to use Spartners to buff Mox and Nullcraft, but literally never got a chance to do it. With that combo not working, and with the nerf to BSuits, there was zero upside to me taking the Purple starter. I definitely would’ve preferred having White, and maybe even Blue.
Jugger Mox is always one of those interesting ideas, but have yet to really see someone make it work. always seems to be a bit too slow and require too many techs/turns to be worth. probably the same reason why immortal sees so little play. A 5/5 that sticks around forever just isn’t that good at tech 2.
I do wonder what the game would be like if tech 2 wasn’t such a big jump in power level from tech 1, would give strats like that more time to shine (don’t know if thats good for the game or not but would probably make it last too long)
