Thoughts

Safest options is probably to turtle up with a Prospector behind Argagarg. Next turn I’d have 7g - 1g for tech I, which is enough for Rich Earth + Ironbark if I feel like doubling down on gold superiority. I’m not worried about Unity’s Tech I or early heroes, but Present II has some good stuff and there’s that disgusting Moment’s Peace / Chronofixer combo (which would seem unlikely for P1).

Thoughts

Not entirely sure what to make of Midori. His spells are mostly reactive & he’s awfully expensive for multicolor P1. If they’re planning on getting any use out of him it would suggest they’re taking very cheap units, like Gemscout Owls. Air rush with Circle of Life? Tiny B cuts through Argagarg’s tokens if they’re worried about a stampede. Argonaut is their strongest tech I in a vacuum, would be surprised if they took two with the cost, though. If they’ve been watching my games, they’ll have seen how much I like Rich Earth, and might be thinking they’ll need at least one Owl to keep up in gold?

I have 8g. Options

  • Rich Earth, Tech I, maxband Argargarg. (tech: Huntress and/or Centaur?)
  • Worker, tech I, Playful Panda, maxband Arg. (tech: 2x Stampede?)
  • Worker, tech I, Spore Shambler + Ironbark. (tech: Huntress/Spirit of the Panda?)
  • Worker, Ironbark, maxband Arg.

Option #2 gives me up to 2x Wisp, Merfolk, Panda, Elemental as stampede targets. Assuming I patrol WE in SQL & it dies, that’s easily enough to wipe their board & probably kill tech I.

With nearly all options involving maxband Arg, is it possible they saw this coming and took Moment’s Peace? Maybe, but if they did I just tech 2x Dinosize and build tech II.

Having both Rich Earth and Prospector is really tempting, however… Polymorph beats Immortal, and untargetable Moss Ancient vs. T-Rex / Octavian gives me an edge in a tech III battle, except for Ready or Not. Any decently large Feral unit cuts down on Temporal Hyperion shenanigans, unless they have +1/+1 runes or something.

I´m afraid I will not have the time to finish this game in time as I´m gone most of the weekend and maybe even the beginning of the next week. Not to cause further delay for the tournament I will forfeit. You are in a good postion anyway

GG @FrozenStorm

@Unity if you need to continue this match into next week, it isn’t a big deal. The tournament format and rules allot for that. If you still wish to forfeit that’s totally your call, but you certainly aren’t in an unwinnable situation and are welcome to play your turn 3 next week, having given me a heads up that you need more time.

It’s not uncommon for tournaments to need a catch-up week at some point, so don’t over-worry about slowing things down.

O.k. I try, maybe it´s over quick anyway.

Oh man, now I tried it 3 times and it just doesn´t move my teched cards to the discard pile. No idea what´s going on.

I really don´t have the nerve to rush this through at the moment. So I forfeit.

@FrozenStorm

Okay, I will respect that decision.

Just know for the future, no need to rush a turn through b/c you feel pressure. If you’re up front about needing more time we’ll be happy to provide it

Have a great weekend!

Thank you, you, too!
