Before I was afraid of playing graveyard into assimilate, but now that onimaru’s already out and the fact that assimilate would be 5 total gold spent that doesn’t affect the board that turn, I’m not worried about it. Particularly wanted to go this route, because it’s hard to ensure vandy lives against onimaru, he’s strong.

Might be needlessly risky to play out river here, but she should live unless my opp plays 2 spells which seems unlikely given only 2 cards in hand. If River lives her midband ability is going to make my next turn really strong along side discord. There’s a good chance I won’t be able to prevent tech II, but if my opp’s board is empty with no cards in hand it should be ok.

Feels like I got lucky this turn. Opp had bootcamp, but not the elite training/forgotten fighter I needed to dodge. I could have broken Tech I and II, but I would have lost graveyard 100% if I did that and I think I can’t lose if graveyard lives until next turn. Appel stomps close out the game pretty quickly assuming I have any units. This line does feel pretty greedy; if my opp plays drakk and blood spells graveyard breaks anyway, but now they get to play tech Is. Crazy to think they haven’t been able to play a Tech I in the game so far.
