My opinion was leave bird’s nest alone. Ive been leaving it out of the conservative change list.
Appreciate you weighing in Zhav, Pena and Zango. Previous consensus seemed to be some change was warranted, but I do believe we went too far. Resummon one at a time is the “conservative” tuning choice so penciling that in below as the decision.
Looks like Battle Suits change is pretty unanimous, Intimidate change is a no, and changing The Boot to add upgrades is the preference. I disagree there still and feel we’re not doing enough to help our boi Troq out, but we’ve argued about it enough so time to move on.
All right then, revising my proposal for the Summer ruleset as a “conservative iteration” on XCAPS22, please vote below!

There’s no need to increase gunship cost. The obliterate nerf is enough. It’s now just a glorified liberty gryphon.
I think it’s a bit of a nothing change tbh, but I also think it’s warranted. It notably has long range and bigger stats than Liberty Gryphon, and also isn’t an illusion so harder Target. It can eat the gryphon’s lunch, and Gryphon itself could be considered for a cost increase IMO.
I 100% agree that this is not in the vein of conservative. Cost change on gunship is not needed at this point.
Fair enough, I will strike it, like I said I don’t think it makes a big difference
Does that settle the “something’s not right” votes? Last call before I post this finalized?
I will say I’m not sure about the bird’s nest change. I know I was someone who brought up the birds dying on nest kill, but I was never super confident about it.
We can see how it pans out.
That’s why the final change is “resummon one bird on upkeep”, a very small change from the current card. I can say via playtesting the nerf to kill both birds on nest leaving was a major one, I don’t think it was a good change. Kill one bird on leaving would be a less aggressive change to consider, but in the interest of smaller movements and general thinking that Bird’s Nest isn’t giga-busted as is, we’re favoring the minor tweak to slow down respawns
This makes me a little sad for all the mystics and soldiers outside Peace but judging by the vote it seems that ship has sailed…
Added complexity in “Mystics and Purple soldiers” probably isn’t worth it for the ~3 mystics i can think of, just feels a shame that the unit types were put there with this in mind but no longer would have an effect.
I’m sure you guys had a good reason but can someone remind me why there are no buffs to Law tech 2 here?
Sorry for popping out of nowhere to dissent, most of this I’m totally on board with!
Overall sentiment was too keep the change list small and move slowly, so bashing buffs were minimal and law was left alone
Law probably deserved to be on the list this go around, but I don’t think there was real consensus around what needed a change. Something minimal, like Guardian of the Gates to 2/6 instead of 1/6, or effects heroes, or both. But it just didnt get as much air time as the other changes.
Mm i guess “Law as a whole is not as bad as bashing” is true, and buffs are generally harder to argue for when the spec has a few redeeming cards - we’re not here to see all cards played with equal frequency.
My one attempt at sneaking a buff into Law is as follows: Arresting Constable’s targets increased to enemy Unit or Hero (no Haste or “arrives:”). Justification being 1) that it sees play as infrequently as MoLaC is frequent and 2) this doesn’t make it a good card imo, just one with a niche where it does well 3) this is smaller than changes being made to Bashing and Law is runner-up to least used spec.
While I’d personally like more, I think any more and I’d open this up to “Law doesn’t need it as badly as Bashing and we are trying to keep the changes minimal”, which would be totally fair
I’m resonating with @dwarddd expressing sadness at the Battle Suits nerf!
A minimal viable nerf to Battle Suits could be to make Overeager Cadet a Cadet rather than a soldier. That would tune down the spamming combo potential with Flagstone Garrison, but still leave enough strength with other soldiers and mystics that the build would be viable, in my opinion.
The purpose was to weaken purple peace, since nightmare and Miracle growth have major nerfs now. Weaken nightmare just to have a new too strong combination makes no sense. So pp needs a significant change too.
It was discussed, voted and is ready to be tested. Take the deck play it during the tourney and give feedback afterwards…
I agree with dwarddd and offkilter that just nerfing cadet would have been the smaller change but I think what we ended up on is the appropriate change. Remains to be seen whether it was too much or not enough, no one has submitted purple peace yet for the tourney but I welcome someone to do so!
There are 13 non-Purple soldiers and mystics in the game. 6 are in Peace. 1 is Bluecoat Musketeer, which can’t normally be buffed by Battle Suits anyway. 2 more are Calypso Vystari and Hooded Executioner, which are in the two most popular Purple/Peace variants.
I’d be more concerned about the unintended nerf to the remaining 4 if I’d ever actually seen any one of them played with Battle Suits ![]()
I’m considering it, albeit with a new variant.
Wait there are four more? What are they? (Also I didn’t realize everything in peace is a soldier, my goodness)
Dothram Horselord, Doubleshot Archer, Mind-Parry Monk, Focus Master. You can search for keynames on codexcarddb.
Like i said, I saw the vote and get the arguments for this style of battlesuits change, I’m not tryna restart discussion there
I’m a lot more interested in a Law change though, any thoughts on my proposal?
