Feels like just pressuring face from the start against Vandy isn’t a bad choice, so why not that? Rook is also decent against Vandy but I don’t mind waiting on a hero and making sweat for Zane

Red is advantaged on this map (especially as P1) and he can eventually MOLAC so I need to be careful. I suspect he’ll let the Rambaster stay tapped to let it power up. Therefore, Doom Grasp is an immediate tech. I think a disease plan will be best.

Zane + Dog take down janrda and smack the base around smore would be solid, but TBH baking the Rambaster & laying Rook out front makes better sense long-term. I’m leaving myself open for Deteriorate but more cards isn’t necessarily bad.

My Thoughts

Bad luck Nope had the double spell draw, but that was costly resource-wise. I think I’m getting good econ this way, though perhaps a Lich’s Bargain will make me feel less optimistic. Teching MoLaC (an obvious hard win condition for this matchup) and Surprise Attack, hope I draw neither.

Well that didn’t go as well as we’d hoped, but no biggie. We’ll manage

The twilight baron felt like a desperation move, and then it was removed too easily. That said, black/finesse finds miracle grow troublesome normally, so its not really a surprise monoblack has issues.

Yea unfortunately as a frequent Nightmare / Black player I know all too well that the struggle is real in this matchup.

I think I probably would have gone for Vandy + Midband + haunt on your t1, especially knowing you could leverage that well on T2 with StW + Deteriorate for really strong counter-pressure.

I also agree with Zhav that Baron felt desperate, and it would have been better to try and get Disease T2 out, or perhaps Gargoyle. Orpal’s probably your best bet against MoLaC (Carrion Curse can snipe it and Surprise Attack, Sickness can play keep away on birds), that or Lich’s Bargain pressure.

It’s no cake walk though, you have to hope for some good bounces. GG WP all the same!
