You complete the entire spell before performing any relevant triggers in the queue. So we deal 3 damage to Stewardess, killing it (and adding Dies: Draw a card to the queue), then I discard a card because shadow blade killed the patroller.
Having now completely finished casting shadow blade, we look at the queue for the next thing to do and we see we have a “Draw a card” in there from the technician death.

Thoughts
As much as I would love Glax to survive on -1hp after the doom, the Mech is probs going the way of the weak, and hence I might as well pile as much of the damage on it as possible.
I’m very interested in the match-up but I may have exaggerated my ability to start a whole series of this right now. Let’s play another game and we’ll see how it goes but I may not be able to do all the games right now.
