Mox isn’t easy to deal with when playing red, as most of their ways to get rid of cards is blasting them. Calypso could help though. Taxman is a solid body and anti-air might help to prevent Nullcraft harrassment.

Mox + Suits hurts. For now I have no good option against this. On the other hand, that means no early tech II !
Having both tech I’s this turn means I’ll have to go down on cards if I want to play both (and I definitely want that). So that means I’ll rs, draw 1. I should tech for IIs right now… Both Anarchy and Blood look fine. I guess I’ll go for Blood and tech 2x Crashbarrow, so I’m pretty sure to have at least one on T5.

Good news, I haven’t been attacked ! Will I endure the next turn though ? If so, the crashbarrows should do the job pretty well. I see so much ways for codexnewb to crush my patrol with near no losses that I prefer building a tower.
I feel like codexnewb’s tower won’t serve much, though: most of Red units are expendables, especially since I picked Blood over Anarchy and its stealth. I won’t use Ogre recruiter, that’s all.

Because of Bloodlust, I worker Rambaster over Nautical Dog, but I doubt I’ll play it either.

I had roughly 50% chance to have both crashbarrows this turn (ie not drawing any on turn 4). Even with 1 Crashbarrow I could break tech II and kill Geiger, but this way I break tech I as well and lose no units, save from crashbarrows. This could hardly turn out better for me !

GG. I made a bad call early with going for Argo’s. They definitely keep you at bay, but not tech 2 present earlier let you get haste CB’s rolling on me. run it back?

Argonauts are not what I fear most in purple, but what stroke me most was that you didn’t try to attack me even as my start was pretty weaker than yours. I feared you had a Nullcraft on T3, and so it was: you could’ve cleansed my patrol zone with Fargo trading with Taxman (helped by Mox), then Geiger killing scav and sparkshot + nullcraft dealing with techn, while your Argonaut provided more that enough defenses against what my crippled board could do.
Red attacks pretty well but defends poorly, so I think the easiest way to beat it is a preemptive strike !

Thanks for those pointers. I totally agree. I got so hung up on trying to make gold efficient trades, I just didnt do anything, assuming as P2 I would win the waiting war. I might have if I would have tech 2’d earlier, but no guarantee id draw those Hyperions or whatnot.

So. I think Plasmodium may be a very strong opening for P1 purple against Red. With no 2-gold body on T1, I must play dog + hero; Jaina having slightly superior stats is favored, allowing a decent trade against an hypothetical Fargo.

T2: I guess codexnewb teched double Seer, so I’m bound to see my patrol being hit hard next turn, with no real way to endure. SQL Ogre + Tower ? well then he just plays Battle Suits and put Mox in SQL, or simply puts Plasmo in SQL and I’ll have to trade down. Nothing else I can do kills an attacking Plasmodium though. I guess that’s the best I can do ?
