Standard tech start, that’s a really weak turn 1 that I don’t entirely blame (bringing out a hero against Vandy is a scary proposition), but at least a tower would have probably been a better bet. This is a rare instance where as P1 Black against P2 White Starter, PBR is a solid play to further deter heroes in defense and should allot me strong pressure over the next couple turns.

Whiffed draw, ugh… Might actually bring Garth now, possibly slow-build Meta threat and see if I bait out a snapback. I want to play for Harmony + DP though, that’s so much fun… Discord also pretty great against that deck combo. We’ll see where he puts his t2 defense though.

I’m trading up very well this turn, knocking that tower out. He’s bare naked to protect his tech buildings now, Lobbers are a thing but since he patrolled scav and not techn I’m inclined to think he has a more gold-intensive plan in mind. Grabbing a Fencer (for surprise pain), I’m drawing into DP + BC so they’ll definitely hit the deck next turn, along with Harmony, Fencer, or Graveyard depending on what I grab. So grabbing Harmony as well, build up a bit before I grab discord next turn (+ either Meta or Tech 2 stuff, or maybe another Dark Pact)

So Graveyard made it on the RS, we’ll have to see what else comes in the DP

That is not enough defense, Rathy :wink: Probably Grave in Elite would have been a better bet. I’ll be busting that tech 2, hoping to catch Macciatus off cycle. Can bet we’ll see a Hound next turn, but that’s fine, teching in Dark Pact and Discord to deal with tech 1 stuff and hopefully have more cycling to keep drawing Deteriorate for truth stuff (plus, yknow, Harmony combos).

So I drew harmony + PBR, that means I have to choose between Vandy maxband (my only means of breaking the tech 2 without StW, Deteriorate or Fencer), Harmony (which I want now so I can build it up), Bone Collector (for extra offense + a blocker), or Graveyard (also would be great to have now to get double fencer next turn) as something to skip.

Decided on Graveyard, it’s the least momentum building of the 4 for me.

Got a DP in the reshuffle (33% hit, nice), that makes next turn potentially super explosive. Probably will tech Starlet + Fencer or double Starlet.

Good game, I wanted to try giving up on the board a bit and use my worker advantage to tech faster, but I think I took it too far. Still trying to work out how you play from behind in this game lol.

P2 Turn 3 building a tech 2 is tough to pull off, and Hounds are tough to use well against Dark Pact + Deteriorate + River midband. Twins were a good call, as would have been a sacrificial midband Grave to block. This is a tough deck to win against in general though.

Happy to switch sides and play P2, or just run this back, if you like!

Not common, but I played against it in one of the last two CA*S tourneys. I think Jadiel brought it out.
