Not a great hand. Workering Flagbearer, because Viper’s marginally useful against Tech I spam and Nekoatl hasn’t bothered with Juggermox or Drill Sergeants so far.

I am seriously considering Rickety Mine. If Nekoatl’s just going to block up, I can try to ramp up my gold income for Drakk attacks, with a building no one would be stupid enough to waste gold on taking with Assimilate. Teching in Birds as well doesn’t leave me with much on defence, I’ll put in a Crash Bomber.
… Scavenger gold gives me enough for Mine and midband Rook, let’s see how it goes.

Yeah, on second thought I’m just going to maxband Rook instead so I can safely kill Onimaru, use the spare gold to keep the Monk on 2 health so it takes Mox and Nullcraft to kill him. I’m leaving it a bit late to get lusted attacks going, so I’ll go for Thunderclaps to hit the back and plan for Crashbarrows. Makes getting Mine for Drakk gold a bit pointless, but I suppose I could take Ogre Recruiters later to take away the Tech I wall.

Trying to use Eyes to check for Nature Reclaims before trying to build Garrisons. Prioritizing Monk for the kill because otherwise he would heal damage done to Rook.

Playing the Mine instead of making it a worker, so I can threaten a quick midband Drakk with those Birds. My patrol’s thin enough for Nekoatl to take out my Tech II, but I’m happy to trade Tech II buildings against this deck, and it means he’s not destroying the Mine. Skipping a worker means I naturally have more turns to tech in Nature Reclaims.
EDIT: Went back and added my Tech II.

Thoughts
Yeah, figures. I forgot that the Mox couldn’t be sidelined by it, though, but still against that much board presence, it would have been super inefficient to add Vir to the patrol. I’ll go for Glaxxes for their expensive stickiness. I can patrol well against what’s already in play, but hasty Blood units or even Sensei’s Advice would make short work of it. Alternatively, I can take out the Tech II, but doing so would leave my patrol inadequate. With 4 cards out of 10 available to him, it’s likely he’ll have at least one that can wreck me, but it’s not guaranteed. I think I have to gamble on that slim chance, though; otherwise I’ll just fall further behind.

Thoughts
Hmm. I can use Grappling Hook to make the Nullcraft easier to deal with, but I’ve got a few options for the land battle. Midband Drakk is 5 gold, Crashbarrow is 3 gold, Ogre Recruiter is also 5 gold. I could use Sensei’s Advice instead of midbanding Drakk to save gold, but I still can’t afford to play the Recruiter too.
- Midband Drakk, Crashbarrow sidelines Mox and destroys a tech building, a Bird trades with Nullcraft, the other Bird and Rook destroy the other tech building. Double tech break, but I’m left with no remaining gold to put up a defence against 7 total attack.
- Crashbarrow, Hook the Nullcraft so a Bird can trade with it, ‘barrow destroys a tech building, Rook and the other Bird destroy the other tech building. I then have 5 gold to worker, play Crash Bomber to block, and get a Heroes’ Hall or Drakk. I could also skip everything and play Recruiter, but it would die on Nekoatl’s counter-attack. And Sensei’s Advice is a bit less painful to worker than Grappling Hook, if I’m looking to tech a Bloodlust later.
- Birds trade with Nullcraft, play Drakk (6), Rook kills Vir and Drakk hits level 3, maxband Drakk (3). Uh, kill Cadet with hasted Crash Bomber, I guess, and worker. Nope, can’t even do that because the Mox is still in the way.
- Sensei’s Advice, Birds kill Nullcraft and help Rook destroy Tech II, and survive. Play Ogre Recruiter, worker and play Crash Bomber. That still leaves 7 attack on the board, which is enough to kill Crash Bomber and Ogre Recruiter through SQL armour, so skipping the double tech break doesn’t even give me a more stable board.
Looks like I’m passing up on the Recruiter for now. Teching in some Drakk spells to help keep the pressure on, Nature Reclaims can wait if I’m not letting the Garrisons go down, and keeping his board reasonably small to mitigate Battle Suits. Getting a hasted Recruiter out soon to trash the Mox would be nice, though.
EDIT: Bloody hell, I only just noticed Nekoatl’s float. Just as well I went for the double break.
I’ll resign it here, GG WP.
GGWP. You successfully stopped your Garrisons from being reclaimed
I’m not sold on the White starter with this deck, but Thunderclaps look to be good for edging out a win, and if that fails Ogre Recruiters look promising.
Going to call it there, so I’m ready for tournament start on Monday. Thanks for the games! Last win notwithstanding, your deck’s still pretty scary.
Good idea, I think I’ll avoid starting any new games from here on so I can rest up. Thanks also, I learned a lot about my build. See you in the tourny.
