GG, no way I’m countering that with just a Mad Man not dead in my hand! Looks like this deck needs some work, as does my Red vs. Purple early game.

Think I might delay this deck until I’ve had more practice. In the meantime, I think I said last no-ban tournament I’d play [Balance]/Blood/Strength again, so I’ll switch to [Strength]/Balance/Blood, if you’re up for playing that? Feel free to switch too.

Looking through your thoughts from last game, I think you may have overlooked Bloodburn and a Tower as options for countering the Nullcraft (at least, so long as I didn’t use Drill Sergeant to dump +1/+1 runes on it). I guess it’s my turn to go first?

Yeah, you go first. I was worried about Assimilate for Bloodburn, I think, but I blanked on the tower. Oh, and Setsuki didn’t kill the Cadet because she couldn’t without skipping Tech II or getting counterkilled.

Thoughts

I’ll have to watch out for Nature Reclaims taking my Garrisons. Free Speech can prevent it, but the timing will be tricky, not to mention continuously casting Free Speech is expensive. Guess I’ll take advantage of being P1 and try opening with Plasmodium for intimidation purposes.

Not sure Safe Attacking is such a good idea with Vir around, I want to save Nature Reclaims for Battle Suits and Flagstone Garrisons. Smoker’s cheapest, but he won’t be as good once Drakk comes out later. I’ll put Fox Viper out for now, and save Flagbearer in case I need it.

Bird’s Nest is safe against Vir not allied with Rook, or do I want the normal Owl? No, I want something a bit more offensive if the Peace engine is incoming. Boulder isn’t offensive, it has a ton of health to survive against the Plasmodium but won’t do anything to it in the meantime. What have I got that can deal with Plasmodium? It could be arriving this turn… I’m mostly using 2-attack stuff right now, so it’s going to trade 2-to-1 at worst. Maybe not bring in Nest, though, it could easily kill Rook. I’ll bring in a Crash Bomber and an Owl, as usual.
