Thoughts
So, yeah. I misrememberd Bone Collector’s stats. I’m now much more comfortable with the decision I made last turn (although I wish I’d patrolled that BC in SQL). I feel my position has stabilized somewhat. I’m not playing anything from hand this turn except possibly a worker in order to resuscitate my drawing power. I think I want to clear his board here, but that will mean delaying tech 2, which I guess I’m okay with. Wait. I just realized that Drakk’s maxband is about units that arrive from my hand, so I can’t give haste to a BC from my graveyard. Drat. Can I get by with skipping a worker here? I already have the 8 I need to build tech 2, so maybe something like No worker, Midband Drakk, BC+ 1 skelly kills Cala (Drakk Maxes), Thieving imp w/haste, trades with hound, skelly pings nullcraft? Seems alright. Don’t like skipping worker and delaying tech 2, but I think this is worth it. Time will tell, I guess.
Tech was a tough decision here. My end goal is either skeleton army + war drums or Lord + tap 5 -> Pirate Gang commander. With Drakk at max, I think war drums is a must (though there’s a good chance he won’t be around for it.) I had a few thoughts for the other one, though. I toyed with the idea of PGC now, thinking that if Drakk gets killed (a distinct possibility) I could play bigby and stash it, then Tech up+ BC, I could then tech in Lord, trade off Bigby, max garth for lord, and tap 5 skellys for PGC. That plan has a lot of moving parts, though, and while I think it actually has a reasonable chance for success, I was wary of it. I’m low on cards, so I also considered Desperation, but teching in 2 blood spells starts to suck if Drakk dies, and desperation is at its best if I want to play a bunch of units from hand. With my 2 best units in my graveyard, I didn’t consider it a good play. Other options were Lord (because he’s always good with skeletons), Hooded Executioner (because I can play him right away, and (especially if drakk lives) he can contribute substantially to maintaining my board dominance in the face of my opponents tech advantage, and crash bomber (for basically the same reasons as HE, but he’s cheaper and his ability is great value against illusions).
