My Thoughts
Gonna take a game to knock the rust off probably, no 1-drops and don’t really wanna do rushdown of Rambaster, so we try Bloodburn! That’ll be a fun new thing to do with this deck.
No upgrade removal for Kilter, GPT makes birds less good but think that the stock birds => MolaC + Sharks + Ancient is the play here, LB something to watch out for but think I can manage
Very interesting to see Bloodburn right away! Maybe I can capitalize on that somewhat greedy opening by taking board presence.
Picking a worker was tough: I think I’d be foolish to throw away the flagbearer vs Bloodburn or Snapback, so instead I throw away the Sensei’s Advice?!? Perhaps I will play the fool this game.

My Thoughts
Sets… hmmm. So maybe reading that I’ll be ceding early and trying to get white bullying set up? I don’t think that’s gonna work… but it does make me wonder a little what to do next. I can’t do Dog + Brogre and tech up (or Rook + anything), and I think it’d be unwise to skip it (since I don’t really want to tech both Birds Nest first round and don’t want a T3 full whiff), so Brogre + Tech 1 feels like the play. Leaves the plan still slightly ambiguous, should trade well, leaves Zane open as an option to retalliate.

Thoughts
Somehow I was expecting that ogre.
Using the grappling hook and training Setsuki seems like a great trade, and eliminates the possibilty of it gaining Spirit of the Panda or some other shenanigans to make a stronger attack against me.
I feel like I’m in a strong position. I’ll keep the Saviour Monk patrolling to make sure my T1 doesn’t get rambasted, even though it would be nice to damage Frozen’s T1 to set it up to get knocked down later.
Gunpoint Taxman should help in case of birds, and could turn some wisp defense into profits.
Hooded Executioner has a good chance of nabbing a strong unit, which would put me in an excellent position.
Well, I didn’t get to use Hooded Executioner this turn!
I was still able to clear the patrol, but I’d expect that Saviour Monk will die to bloodburn.
I was hoping to keep Hooded Executioner up my sleeve, but I realized that Rook could just maxband to kill Setsuki, which would ruin everything, if I only had one patroller!
I’ll have snapback and safe attacking next turn, so I should be able to neutralize Rook, one way or another.

Still nearly able to clear the board, though maybe I should be nervous that I’m falling behind in Tech.
Probably Oversized Rhinocerous is the pick to come back from this position, so I’ll put a Chaos Mirror in my deck to steal that power.
I’m pretty sure Setsuki can cast her Ultimate next turn, so hopefully I can translate this board position into some damage!
@OffKilter I’m intrigued by your deck choice. I’ve always wanted Ninjitsu to work. White is not my strength but I recently had some training that made me almost pick White starter. I have some discussion points for after the game if you are interested. I may be able to help you refine some of the lines.
No house rules and no errata on this one (though perhaps a nuance you aren’t aware of?)
Flagbearer states that anything that could target him does. However, to target him I would need to be able to pay 1g for the resist.
Since I don’t have any gold by the time I’m done playing my cards + Arg, I cannot target him, therefore I do not have to
Happy to have a judge come clarify, and also happy to roll back to an alternate patrol of the flagbearer if you’d like to (given you weren’t aware of the rule).
Well maybe not happy to (I could really use the kill on the GPT from this position ) but seems the gracious and sporting thing to offer
FrozenStorm is correct and it is legal play by official ruling.
“If you cannot target a flagbearer for some reason, then you don’t have to and you can ignore it. For example, if a flagbearer has resist 1 (which requires you to pay 1 gold to target it) and you have 0 gold, you don’t have to target it. Or in other words, if you have a spell that costs 4 and that targets, and you have exactly 4 gold, you CAN ignore a flagbearer with resist 1 because it’s impossible for you to pay the resist cost in this case, and thus impossible to target the flagbearer. — Sirlin, 03/04/16”
So, I would like to concede at this point, GG @FrozenStorm !!
I certainly wasn’t prepared for Blooming Ancient + Argagarg to get so big so fast. I think even with the rollback you’re offering that I’d be in a great struggle to deal with that. I had considered using Snapback to deal with Rook, but decided not to because I was greedy about giving you the card draw from the Mad Man in technician. But I could have snapbacked into Argagarg to deal with the potential Blooming Ancient shenanigans along with teching Chaos Mirror to deal with potential Rhinos, and I think that would have kept me in a strong position.
Oh hmmm are you sure? I actually felt like things were pretty dicey for me here, especially if I don’t get that gunpoint kill. Flagbearer is bad news for me.
