Well I have options this hand, but basically none for next hand! Yikes! I have Kidnapping to worry about with a power mox strat, but I still think he’s my best investment against Black starter and Red aggro. This is a weird one to play against, it’s all the usual Necro Blood plays to worry about but with the added downside of Zane and Gunships (and Taxman is really bad for Nullcraft…) I’m a bit at a loss for how I play this well, but I think it starts with Battle Suits and Peace Engine generally. Maybe an early Stewardess? I’m really not sure what I do, besides perhaps early HH for Oni and Zane to get a board lockdown…

I think EricF’s deck is the new Purple Peace engine gold standard. KotC, Assimilate, Garth fetching DS… It’s objectively better at the peace engine plan at least!

I didn’t really want to play a card this turn anyway, but man him having Zane and P2 gold is scary… I don’t want to put Oni down if I want to get some Boot Camp down. Which I think I do. Slow Mox growth, tempt a Kidnapping without really giving him a target. If I whiff, maybe I use Prynn to flood the board a bit

And I whiffed lol, so yea at least I didn’t lay Oni down to feed levels.

imo is a strong deck, but basically runs on peace, and if garrisons get banished things can get nasty

Garth has good card draw to mitigate that though, and it seems like he can usually build enough pressure via DS + Nullcraft for it not to matter if he loses the Garrison.

It’s not so much an evolution of PPA as it is a tighter focused evolution of just the Purple Peace plan PPA runs. It lacks some of the versatility PPA has, but trades it for optimization of the Peace engine.

This is brutal, I didn’t draw a single blocker. So my options are to leave my tech 1 mostly bare, leave a hero out to dry for free levels to Garth, hope I hit on Fargo / Cadet with a TR + Prynn (and basically forego Boot Camp), or Forgotten Fighter the Imp to beg for going down on cards…

I guess the TR plan sounds least objectionable, so let’s do it… That means teching T1 weanies, don’t want to commit to a Tech 2 just yet… Vystari definitely better than Seer against Black starter and likely Blood pressure that isn’t easily Prynn banish-able

Fargo + BC, boooo. Why you so hard to draw Cadet? So now question is do I want Fargo, or Nullcraft? I guess Fargo? Sure :confused: I don’t think I should skip worker. I also think I should just patrol Prynn anyway, I’d like to protect tech 1 at all costs, and getting a card for Prynn isn’t the worst trade ever for me. This is a shitty start for me though, I don’t like my chances. Could have really used that cadet…

Reshuffle draw isn’t too bad, if I keep Prynn I can TR to recover cards, if not I can flood and tech up.

So let’s think this through a bit:

  • He’s laying 8 + Garth
  • He probably didn’t draw a tech 2 unit
  • He brings 3 with Garth and 6 with a Barrow by maxing Garth
  • He brings an extra 4 with just midband Drakk

I’m definitely laying both Cadets, but what else can I do?

  • Maxband Zane and I can get rid of BC and both skeletons, but that doesn’t stop the barrow
  • I can tech 2 + suits, but the suits don’t help any more than I can kill the BC with Mox + FArgo, and that leaves my defense very awful
  • I can just tech 2, float 3, and hope to make that into a formidable counter-attack (perhaps I tech 2x sharks?)

I kind of think the right call here is to tech 2 anarchy, hope to force a tower, tech sharks and maybe marauder, and hope to make it to gunships before Blood pressure leaves my base in shambles. Probably last 2 techs go Tanks x2 then Gunships x2.

I’ll have 4 +1 +2 +2 defense, so he’s definitely killing the tech 2 if he wants to.

Fingers crossed! Who knows he might just 100 to 0 me too who knows…

Out of respect that you are insanely ahead on the board, and there’s very little I can do to come back in this game, I think I’ll just concede. I really needed to draw a Cadet on Turn 3, I probably should have teched two of them right there. I suppose Fargo turn 1 might have been better, or Tinkerer turn 2, or I’m not sure what exactly… Maybe just letting my tech 1 die on your turn 3 and like floating a ton for Rewind? or Stewardess perhaps?

I feel for you - I just came out of a game with @zhavier where I started with a tricky split which led to a very unorthodox P! opening, and then it felt like my deck hated me the whole game, and never gave me the cards I needed.
