Looks like he hopes to use either Vandy or Jandra to break the Jail and let the Javelineer go to discard. Failing that, I’d say he plans to follow up with the Imp and then leave the Haunt in Jail until it breaks. As long as the Haunt isn’t on the board, I can use weenie units to screen against StW and Executioners. I wonder if he’s willing to pay $4 to maxband Vandy and take out Bigby? If so, the 2 damage will stick with her and make it easier to take her down later.

This is a rather pathetic defense, but it should keep my tech buildings up for a turn. If I’m lucky, maybe I’ll finally get a chance to put Juggernauts to the test. Let’s see if he’ll let the 2 damage stick on Vandy or give up his Soul Stone.
You know I never considered Shrine giving unstoppable to heroes, but I suppose it would / might? And then whether an ability granted by another card would also be removed by Free Speech? If that hasn’t been asked in the rules thread it should be. But I agree with that interpretation, “lose all abilities” should include things granted by outside sources.

No getting around the need for Garrisons, Carrion Curse or no. Guess I’ll try to time the kill on Orpal for just before I’m ready to play them, so I’ll start by baiting him out with a standard Oni opening.
Good catch, and it looks like the practical consequences are that he cast a Shadow Blade on Turn 6 that he shouldn’t have been able to afford. I’m confident that even without that spell, I wouldn’t have been able to prevent the loss, so I think it’s fine to just move on.
It’s actually not even that; I overpaid for my shrine two turns later, so nothing actually would have changed. I’ll go back and edit everything though so it looks more official in hindsight

I did kind of midband him out of a “what else to do with all this gold” and the extra damage to the tech 2 didn’t end up mattering, so… pretend I just didn’t midband him? Although I did use the midband on the next turn to ice the Agents…
I’m happy to play it back but I kinda agree with Neko, I don’t think it wouldn’t have affected much

… is what I said, but actually finding a way to make that happen is another story. This feels like attacking a tank with a toothpick. Well, I doubt Frozen will try to use Carrion Curse before I build a Tech II, especially when Quince isn’t a consideration, so I’ll try using some Oni spells for a change.
Juuuust in case he went for Elite Training, I’m gonna patrol in SQL. Arrest + Elite still gets Orpal killed but that’s probably okay since it weakens Oni for doing so and he wouldn’t have any patrol left after.
I can kill Orpal this turn, but that’s the wrong timing…! Guess I should clear the Skeletons for now, though it’s tippng my hand. I expect the Newsman to get hit by a -1/-1 as well, which isn’t going to help. But, with luck, maybe I can pull some useful cards off the reshuffle.
