I guess I’m so used to losing graciously that when I won and didn’t get a gg, I was confused in the moment. When I gg it means nothing more than “thanks for hanging out and playing a game with me”. I am more than willing to break my own arm while WP’ing myself on the back.
“My” official policy will be to always gg. I will let the opponent gg as they wish.
Yeah, I can’t disagree with that assessment of the draws. I’m out of practice with dealing with funky Val hands, and then I definitely had some mental disintegration after game 2. One thing I noticed I could have improved on was playing in such a way to use up my joker advantageously when I had two.
As for the “gg” question, I don’t think it matters so much between individual games, but I’ll certainly always want to thank my opponent at the end of the set. My gut is to agree with IaN and let the loser have first opportunity to say it.
I’ve been struggling to post these updates before Tuesday (just because of when I’m able to run the scripts needed), so I’m changing the deadline to be Tuesday (to give everyone a little more time to report things).
- An almost entirely silent 2 into TPoS, followed by Q spam. Truly ridiculous draws. - My deck repays me in kind. My opening hand is QQQKAAA. My only regret is that I misclicked so many times trying to get the right combo that I missed the Q++KAA play.
This was a really fun set to play. Great games, @ArthurWynne!
In your defense, I don’t think I knew there was a difference between Positive Spin and the Patriot Mirror ability until sometime in my second year of play…

me: "Oooh, MC! Tough luck there for [Player 1]."
me, on the next combat reveal: "Woah, that’s a really bad combat reveal from [Player 1]! What were they thinking?"
me, like a minute later: “…I’m an idiot.”
I’m happy that I got you to ~30 life and never triggered Bubble Shield. Sure, I ran low enough on throws that the last few turns were just me slowly dying to Hex as we went Block–Bubble Shield, but I managed to never run an attack into it despite getting at least one successful 10-attack in!
@vengefulpickle, I’d like to keep this coming week off. I’ll be back the week after, though!
I was afraid I’d thrown the game in the first couple turns. I accidentally clicked pass during the power up phase two turns in a row, and I got 10’d, and then my BS got thrown. Ouch!
